EA App won't install due to no connectivity

I have been pulling my hair out to play FIFA 22 that used to be on Origin. I was told that the EA App would uninstall Origin and I had to use the EA App to play it in future. I tried to install the EA App and every time it tried to "Download Stuff" and then failed due to "Connection Error -  EA App is having trouble updating. Try checking your internet connection and try again".

I read on one of the forum threads (thanks @solek123456) to create a hotspot on my phone and use that to connect my computer and bloody hell, it then proceeded to download and install the EA App. Once the app had installed I changed back to my ethernet connection. Now I can play FIFA without any issues!

Why this happened is a mystery. Maybe the app doesn't like my 2.5GB ethernet connection as I was online the whole time and it refused to download.
