this game requires administrative privileges

I have a windows setup with an administrator user. I use a restricted user for security reasons.
Any other game platform i have works fine. I've just bought the command & conquer ultimate collection to play red alert 2, but when I launch it (or any other game from the same collection, in fact) i get a window saying "this game requires permission - this game requires administrative privileges. Do you want to grant access and launch the game?" and if i click ok i get an error "failed to launch the game - an error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later".

I've tried installing it on a laptop that has only one standard admin user. Doesn't show the last error ( an error on our end caused the launch to fail) but the game doesn't start.

  • Do u try to enable "Run with admin rights" compatibility for any games exe files in its properties?

  • @Ch40s86 This is a joke. It has never worked. it has been months. and it is still not fixed.

Does EA not care? I am never buying any EA games until this is fixed. I can't play half my game library and this is the only reason I have it is to play old C&C games.

@glockman1727ak47No i don't think they care at all.
They've also deleted my previous account as it was inactive for a while WITHOUT TELLING ME. Any attempt to get it back was useless. I had a few games in it.
Curious to know if they think that's a decent thing to do.
