Work Glitch for Sims3

With certain jobs while playing the sims3 my Sims will not go to work. The first time this happened to me, my Sims was employed in the business career. She was able to work her way up to Power Broker in her career then one day she was about to go to work and all the actions in her queue disappeared. I pressed the go to work button in the job section of the Simi panel but the action just cleared. I did this repeatedly and the same result happened her, my Simi not going to work. This happened the next day. The only possible solution I could think of was completely uprooting her life in Sunset Valley and moving to Isla Paradiso.This solved the problem. Then her daughter had just graduated from university with a physical education degree. The day she went to her new job in pro sports, the same thing happened as previously. Her action queue cleared. So in a desperate attempt to try and fix the problem happening yet again I had her quit her job, since she hadn't progressed in it any yet, and had her get the job again. The next day when I was sending her to work the same thing happened. Her action queue cleared. I tried sending her to work by pressing the got to work button in the Simi panels but her queue just cleared. I don't think a certain expansion pack caused this because this glitch just happened a few days ago and the most previous expansion pack I've installed up until today was in July and this glitch started before today, but after July approximately. A little less than a week ago. So I am concluding that it is just a glitch within the sims3 itself. If anyone has experienced this glitch and had solved the problem any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I am playing sims3 on an iMac, if that makes any difference to anything.
