Launcher has stopped working/game crashing

Just yesterday I opened Sims 3 no problem but after a bit it crashed as it has been doing lately. I do have custom content but it generally hasn't caused any issues. Only recently is the game beginning to crash even when i play in fullscreen mode.

But now today, I cannot even open the game because when I click on it to play in Origin, i get the error message that the S3 launcher has stopped working. I was originally trying to play with my internet off because I read that the crashing is often fixed when internet is off, but now I cannot even open the game. I deleted some file called "missingdeps" or something like that as I read that that was a fix, but no luck.

How can I get my game to launch again, and how do I get the game to stop crashing??? Preferably, I would like to keep my custom content.
