Re: Do something about the laggers.

Lmao.. what lag advantage? You ever played with 200-400 ping? Good luck getting any advantage with that. Sure you are harder to hit while lagging, but you cant hit * either. Get your facts straight please, before posting such nonsense.

@Deathlyhearts you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Search google for "lag switching" and "peekers advantage"

APEX uses client side hit registration.. which means if it is a hit on your screen, its a hit. Laggers use this to their advantsge, by pushing around obstacles and doorways so on their screen they can push and shoot at you 1/2 second before you even see them on your screen.

Of course laggers are just as vulnerable to being pushed like this, but opponents don't know the nearby player is lagging until its too late.

You can see a detailed thread about this, including an interview with Overwatch devs about how they addresss it, here...

  • And Battlenonsense made a great video (actually a second one came out) comparing Apex Legends' netcode with comparable games (quick YT search and you'll find both videos) and it's one of the (if not the) worse so laggers have a huge peeker's advantage and they can kill you (a low ping) far after you'v actually been behind cover from your perspective.

I wasn't attempting to insult anyone. I do know that the game have some serious netcode issues, but i honestly don't see how anyone would; 1) Enjoy anywhere even remotely playing the game with 400 ping and 2) How anyone would get any real advantage from playing with 400 ping. I actually gave up on trying to play with friends in the US, because i was lagging so much and that was just barely above 100 ping i was getting.

So yeah, while the netcode issue is certainly something that needs to be fixed ASAP, i dont believe that there is many people that are actually 'exploiting' this, but I might be wrong. Either way hopefully it will be adressed soon.

You sound like such a fool that's so sure of what he's talking about. It was so cringe reading your comment, and seeing how confident you were with it. Laggers land hits on me super accurately, while I miss 90% of my shots because they teleported at the last second. Maybe, instead of trying to sound like you know what you're talking about, try seeing it for yourself? Every single lagger iveI fought has had a CLEAR advantage. That's how I know you're absolutely full of *.

Well several of people explained it to you; client sided hit detection =)

Me and a friend (EU) got placed on Asian servers for 10-15 games for some reason, maybe due to a bug or because EU server maintenance. Anyhow; even if the lag FELT terrible, we both noticed that if we landed our shots on OUR screen, the game would register it as a hit. The only difference was that the damage indicator, blood, bullet impact sound and kills showed up on our screen 0.5-1 seconds later.

But we also noticed that people seemed to have a super hard time hitting us. So yes; high ping gives sadly seems to give you an advantage =(
