So this is my experience with "it's playable" high ping Apex Legends compared to a definitely playable low ping Battlefield 4.
I don't have a lot of footage of good or bad Apex Legends experiences because:
1. I basically never have good experiences
2. I always alt+f4 before recording the bad experiences. Didn't think I was going to need recordings of the screw ups...
So I made due with some footage I did record.
On my channel I have 23 montages of Battlefield 4 gameplay. Yes, I record good moments as I very much enjoy making gaming videos. I had A LOT of Battlefield 4 gameplay to use for this video and couldn't even use it all. Good moments just don't really happen on Apex Legends.
Your mileage with Apex Legends may vary off course and if your game is "playable" on high ping, good for you! But: 1. Our definitions of "playable" might be a little different. 2. Don't pretend everyone else is having the same "playable" experience as you.
Couldn't agree more.
Me and a group of my friends love apex but consistently playing with latency in the mid 200s (and sometimes 300s) has become beyond frustrating. It's so aggravating when you're playing and can tell that you lost a battle purely because you had a significantly higher latency. It has gotten to the point where it has even affected where we decide to drop and even what guns we decide to pick up. The fact that we get 'excited' about the odd game when our latency is around 180ms is clearly a bad sign.
I also know that I'd have way more friends who played apex if it weren't for the servers too. I've tried to get sooo many of them, who play other battle royales, into the game because I truly believe it's the best royale ever. But all of them try it and all of them last less than a month for the same reason: "I was really getting into it but the ping is too high, dude. I'd rather play Warzone 'cause they have a South African server and I know I have a fair chance of winning games."... You just can't argue with that reasoning.
I know that, like every hardcore gaming community, the apex community is almost impossible to please. I understand that you will never make everyone happy. Some people want the mastiff nerfed, others think it's perfect the way it is. Some people hate that Wraith just got nerfed again, others think it's absolutely necessary. People are constantly complaining about the various map rotations whereas others have zero problems with it. This server thing is different though. Who would it hurt to add a South African server? Who would really have a problem with it? There's a petition with over 20 000 signatures on it and I wholeheartedly believe that number is a very conservative estimate of all the frustrated people.
To be completely honest, Apex might be the best game I have ever played and I've been gaming for two decades. There's so much to love about it and I've spent way more money on it than I ever expected to. At this point though, it feels as if the 'higher-ups' at Respawn/EA simply just don't care. And that is, quite frankly, HEARTBREAKING.
- @Nkoskolosis Season 8 and no servers. We never stood a chance of receiving servers.
CONGRATS, it has been 2 years since Apex legends has been out. And no servers for South-Africa LMAO. Warzone had servers for South-Africa not long after its release. Congratulations again respawn.
Respawn please africa needs a server we pay spend money jusy as any other countries but iys not fair to be stuck on 200 ping and up sort this out
Its gotten to a point where i stopped playing because its not fair you can have the best internet you can spend the most but still respawn limits you cause of no dedicated server for south africa or even africa
Please respawn i want to enjoy apex again and start being a competitive gamer
They only care about stats and income. Thanks to the game releasing on Steam, we now have a way to actually make a difference to their precious stats.
Logged in to steam, rated the game as 'not recommended' with '#AfricaNeedsServers' comments. With every gamer in Africa doing this, maybe we will actually be heard.
