Re: PS5 version controller support

I had this problem but found a really good cheap alternative for ps5 controllers.

Search for extremerate metal back buttons for ps5 controller on Amazon.

They also have plastic versions and a four button version but I would avoid those if I was you. I have all 3 versions on 3 controllers and the metal 2 paddle version is by far the best one and has never broken.

The plastic paddles are prone to snapping and the four button version is awkward to use because of button placement.

They have really good videos on youtube on how to do it and their customer service is really good. I highly recommend you check it out it solved all my issues from using a ps4 strike pack for years on ps4, "For paddles only."

In anticipation of this, I just bought an AIM PS5 controller.  Battle Beaver and scuf still haven't released theirs for market.  I use a scuf PS4 controller, but as you suggested, I expect it may not function once next gen comes in, which seems like any day now, quite possibly as soon as S12 launch day.

However, it's not up to Respawn to worry about this issue.  Sony needs to come out with a PS5 back button assembly soon, please.  I really hope they care!

Sony allows older arcade sticks to work so it’s absolutely possible.  I’d just like Respawn to request the feature.  When the back button attachment was released many assumed back buttons would become standard on the new consoles.  It’s very strange Sony released it and didn’t follow suit with it.

Well, the good news is that it's not needed to play at the top level.  Lots of top controller pros and streamers use button puncher or some other button layout, rather than back buttons.
