@alltimejess1849  That all looks fine to me.  Please make sure that the game is reading the same folder as the one in your screenshot.  Here's how to find the folder:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

Double-check that the usernames match; for the folder in your screenshot, you can right-click and select Properties, then look under General for the location.

If the locations match exactly, please move the Tray folder in your screenshot to the desktop, launch the game, create something and save it to your library (it can just be a box, it doesn't matter), quit, restart your computer, load the game again, and see whether the item you saved is still accessible.  If it is, take the files inside the Tray folder on your desktop and put them in the new Tray folder the game created in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.  Let me know whether they show up.

  • @puzzlezaddict So, I reconnected my Microsoft account (many people said I shouldn't have it connected to my sims but it wouldn't let me stop syncing so I just logged out of it since I don't use it) and all my saves came back. I guess when I logged it out of my laptop it took a bunch of my sims data.

@alltimejess1849  Right, so your Sims 4 content was moved only to Microsoft OneDrive's cloud storage, with no copy left on your hard drive.  When you signed back into your Microsoft account, it synced your data again.

I agree with the other people who say your OneDrive account shouldn't be allowed to affect your Sims games, and there's a simple way to make sure you don't lose the data again.  Before you do anything else, make a copy of the entire Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and put it in your Downloads folder, which OneDrive doesn't touch.  Then sign out of your Microsoft account again, or else just tell OneDrive not to sync the contents of Documents:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/choose-which-onedrive-folders-to-sync-to-your-computer-98b8b011-8b94-419b-aa95-a14ff2415e85

You may have to pause syncing and/or cancel the current sync first:

Once that's done, the original Sims 4 folder will probably have been removed, but that's fine, you can just move the copy you made back to Documents\Electronic Arts and pick up where you left off.
