Skin and hair mods missing

Hi there - I updated my game today per the recent sims 4 update. I logged into my game > entered a household > enabled mods > saved and exited. 

upon my return all my sims are still naked without any body mods. This includes hair, eyes and skin. All my furniture mods were restored in their homes but all of my sims are naked and bald. 

I use one save for my game. Additionally in my save file there is a save from today and 1/9. When i removed the save file from today all of my sims information was removed until I put the save back in the save file. 

all of my skin detail and hair mods are still in create a sim. They were removed during this update from my sims bodies and I have no idea how to get them back. 

any ideas?

    I am also having this problem... I've enabled mods and saved, exited and restarted three times but mods are still disabled.

    @bcharp25 

    If you loaded the game and then saved while the Mods and CC were disabled the change is now permanent in this save. Try to recover an older save otherwise you must apply everything again.

    Thanks for the response. 

    what worked:

    • removing the latest save file.
    • When re- entering the game the only option is to start a new game 
    • I created a new character, saved and returned the the main menu 
    • exited game and brought back the last saved game 
    • Restarted my game - the load option is back and the option to select several of my previous saves 
    • I clicked on one of last saves before the update and all skin detail mods and hair are back on my sims
