Autonomy issues - most likely mod related?

Hello everyone,

I've been playing The Sims 4 on and off for ages, but I'm new to using CC stuff and mods in the game. As I'm experiencing some (minor) issues lately I'm not sure about some things. Maybe someone can help me a bit to find out if the points are most likely caused by the mods or if they are rather related to my setup. I've just started a second try with a similar setup and already can see similar issues:

I've set up a "full" household with 8 sims (young adults, no family connection) and raised the limit to more than 8 sims with MCCC to have the possibility to expand with partners or even children. With the limited budget at the start, it's just with the basics (living room, bedrooms for each, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen).

I downloaded quite a lot of CC furniture that came to use over the time, with further mods I experimentated a bit but in the end there stayed: MCCC, MC-Woohoo, MeaningfulStories and WonderfulWhims

My biggest issues are with the autonomy of the sims. I've set up full autonomy in the base game settings, which worked quite well at my first savegame at the beginning. Over the time my sims started with strange behaviour about their needs. I first thought it might have been due to the new furniture I've bought over the time (mostly CC stuff), but in my new game it's already happening with mostly vanilla furniture.

I've had quite a lot of "cooking" issues - they started cooking, stop in the middle or don't eat it after they cooked it. I've already checked with Sims4Studio for the existing batch fixes, fixed some stuff, but no success. It happens quite often, that they want to do something, maybe even wait until they can do it (i.e. until the desired sim isn't busy anymore) and then just abort it when they could start. It's just like this thing we all might know in real... we go to a room and ask ourself what we wanted to do there and can't remember.

Also they don't cared about their needs as good as before. They hardly cooked something as long as the bar wasn't already deep red, preferred taking a nap instead of going to sleep, used the toilet in last minute and so on.

One thing I was able to realize happening every time: If they plan to prepare a family meal (4 pcs) it's immediatly skipped as if something's blocking it from being possible. But if I choose the meals manually everything works fine. This was definitly not like this from the beginning and came up after a while of playing - just can't say when it was exactly.

I'm not sure where this behaviour is coming from. I suppose it could be either MeaningfulStories or WonderfulWhims as they have impact on the moodlets and therefore maybe also the autonomy behaviour (i.e. not going to sleep when feeling very energetic)? But as I've read that also CC furniture can cause trouble like the cooking issues I really don't know where to search for the solution. And maybe I even expect too much from the base game?

Long story short, my main questions would be:

If there are autonomy issues, what's more likely to cause them? Gameplay mods or CC furniture?

If issues are caused by CC furniture, do they only happen when they are placed or also when they're just in the mod folder without being used?

Can it even just be caused by the big household, that they are constantly either being blocked by each other or distracted by something all the time? I've experienced in my first try that i.e. a crying baby triggered 4 or 5 sims at the same time to take care of it and after the first arrived the others just stood there, waiting for their chance just to cancel it afterwards.

Is there a way to find out what causes an action to be aborted?

Maybe someone has some tips for where to start searching for the cause or what I need to adjust for a better working autonomy. I really want to play with a big household, but there I need to rely on my sims to take care for themselves as good as possible

Thanks in advance 🙂
