What platform are you playing on? If you use any mods or CC, take them out of your game and test on a new save file because outdated mods can cause save issues.
with the latest updat, i can not play any of the saved games on my computer, nor can i save any new games. i can not get the game to register the planting of the apple or cherry trees either. I reomved the mods, only play with 4, uninstalled the game, turned off system, let sit for 20 minutes, restarted the computer, reinstalled the sims4, then rebooted again, i can get into the game, but when try to play saved game it gives error code 135 and some letters, 135:3ce8528f:c8f10bcb, and error message may need to relaunch game, and also error message : one or more create a sim items removed, itmes may not have installed on this computer, or this EA account does not own them. I own all but 3 kits for the SIms 4. How do I get this corrected so I can play the game again. SInce last update, the Grim Reaper challange dosent work, now this. Help if you can please.
@13morgan31 Just to confirm, can you load a save after doing this? Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.
The tree issue might not be related to mods, but see https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/UNDER-INVESTIGATION-MODS-Reaper-s-Rewards-Planting-Flowers-not/m-p/14089172#M295175 for related issues with an earlier part of the quest.
If you removed CC, custom traits/careers/aspirations etc as part of your test, you would get that message during testing without mods. It's normal and not a problem - just don't save while testing.
I updated my game this morning and it's completely broken it. I've gone through the following to try to fix it:
-Repaired my game. Multiple times.
-Updated my mods and removed anything that hasn't been updated.
-Removed my mods and put them back in.
-Tried removing the Sims 4 folder from the Electronic Arts folder, starting the game, and exiting from the main menu.
I can get into the world map, but I can't load into a household. I get the following error message after being taken back to the select a world screen:
135:3ce8528f:c8f10bcb
If I try a second time to get into a household, the game crashes. I've looked at the last exception file and I can't make heads or tails of it. I went to lastexception.com and it doesn't even come up, so it's an unknown error.
I have no idea what's wrong. I've been trying for hours to fix my game and I can't play it. I'm really looking forward to buying the next pack, but if I can't play the game, then what's the point? I've never had issues like this before. I wasn't able to upload the last exception file, so I put the information below. Can someone help?

</root>@andbrillant Did you have/remove any freelance careers? That would include the ones KiaraSims updated. If so, try a "save as" to see if that clears your issue.
I had some of her custom traits, so I removed those and I had a custom career from another creator. I removed that and a black smithing activity mod. I got the same error code. I did the save as too, and still got the error code.
I pulled the last exception file and it’s giving me the same info it has been since yesterday. There better be an emergency patch coming otherwise I won’t be able to play the game at all.
@andbrillant KiaraSims and JaneSimsten have confirmed their mods compatible with the patch. Whose was the other career? And do you get the error if you test vanilla? Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. Do you get the error in a new save?
It's not yet clear if this is a game or a mod error. If it's a mod issue, it's not something that the studio has to address.
It was a blacksmithing career for my decades challenge save. I also had a separate blacksmithing activity/skill mod. I took both out to see what would happen. I still got the error.
When I took my mods out, I still got the error. I tried doing a save as and went into that new save. I still got the error. I’ve deleted the local thumb cache every single time and I’m still getting the error. Nothing is working.
I wish someone knew could tell me what the last exception I put in my original post meant. Lastexception.com wasn’t helpful.
A few hours prior to me updating the game, I tried saving but was stuck in an endless loop. I updated the game, took out the outdated mods and still get the 135 error. Instead of wasting time and doing the 50/50 method, I disabled mods and placed the folder on my desktop and still get the error. I’ve tried double loading, repairing the game, using a different household, going to different saves, removing last exceptions and caches, and pretty much everything under the sun. I’ve seen very few people post about this issue and still one of the methods I previously mentioned normally worked for them. The only thing I can do at the moment is use cas, build mode, and save which is really weird.
@andbrillant It could be caused by removing a mod. The LE shows that the game is looking for something that's scheduled to happen that can't, or something along that line. However, it doesn't point to a specific mod or non-mod cause.
Just to clarify, is it *every* household you can't load, or a specific one?
Please also try this to see if you can get into a new save, and then we'll start retesting systematically with your older content to see if we can get you a working file before getting your mods back in:
- Rename or move the user folder so the game can create a new one: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/resetting-the-game-to-factory-settings-without-reinstalling/
- Run a Game Repair through the EA App (if you're a Steam player, do the equivalent there)
- Start Sims 4
- Confirm that the game has no saves to load or resume
- Create a new save and load a premade house
Let me know if all is good with that. And sorry for not being around more yesterday to step you through next things!
