@pigbiter Please do these exact steps in this order (even ones you did before) and report back the results:
- If you don't have a save currently, create one and exit to the Main Menu.
- Use the game's Load option to find the full address of the user folder it sees:

- Navigate to the exact address provided and rename that folder something like "old user folder"
- Run a Game Repair
- Open the Game. There should be no save to load. Please confirm that to be the case.
- Select New to start a save and report if you still have the same issue
