For start to I introduce myself: Im probably worst player out there, 100 hours, and I still suck! I miss cow from 2 meters!
Now, yes, I suck that much, but when gibraltar is in front of me, or on my sniping scope, not even I can miss that big pile of fat! Not even I suck that much!
Now, again, can anybody explain me process of getting idea for damage reduce?
Well, because Caustic and Gibraltar are both bigger targets compared to the other legends, both in terms of hitbox and visibility, so to make them viable, they ofc have to buff their kit in some way and the dmg reduction is a part of their kit.
I will never play Caustic, simply because I totally hate the principles of his kit, which basically promotes fighting in cramped spaces or even camping but I guess Gibraltar can be quite good now.
With purple armor, he will now have 275 hp when ADS:ing. So with the dmg reducion, a body shot from the R301 for instance will only cause 12.6 dmg which mean it will take 22 hits to kill him, instead of 20 hits without the passive.
