2024 - Matchmaking is still broken!

I don't understand how they can have such a broken system for matchmaking... I know no online game is perfect, but I've never seen matchmaking this dumb in any game I've played before. I've taken multiple breaks, said I was done for good, end up coming back because of that feeling I get when I do get a good game or clutch moment, but every time I come back, the system just seems to be getting worse...IDK how, but when 99.9% of my games this season have been full of or had at least a champion squad of either predator ranked players and/or 4k/20bomb badge players.....EA really needs to do something here. I tried ranked hoping it'd be better, and....well, see for yourself:

Games after plat is full cheater lobbies so everyone just play pubs/smurf.

sadly apex anti-cheat team is one of the worst of the gaming industry.

Good post, my experience is EXACTLY what you described, and has been for at least the last 3 seasons. 

It is what prevents me from playing longer than 3 rounds twice a week. 

Apparently the game thinks I'm a Diamond player, as it gave me a Diamond random along with a Silver random, and we all died to a team that were all Diamonds, (and using cheats).

If it really thinks I'm a Diamond player, it should just make me one. Although, the "champions" were two Golds and a Plat player. (In other words, the game put Silver to Diamonds into the same match and called it a day).

Note: The "Diamond" Horizon player I got was just someone who used the bot lobbies as their aim was not only awful, but they lost an easy 1v1, (before getting respawned and dying to the cheating team). The Bangalore player, (to no one's surprise), played exactly like a bot.

Got back on today and I was yet again in Diamond lobbies. I'm Gold IV now but playing against Diamonds. I guess there really isn't any lower ranked players playing anymore unless its a smurf or cheater.

The game is also giving me a bunch of cheaters and below level 30 teammates as randoms.

My first match today, I got two Diamond randoms, both using wall hacks with one of them using hard aimbot. After they beamed the first squad, they turned off their aimbot and just used wall hacks for the rest of the match. The sad part was they weren't the only two cheaters in the match. There was at least 4 others as two were in the kill feed a lot and I ran into two others with aimbot.

The second match I got a level 20 and 25 randoms.  They were bots.

Third match, they were higher level, (around 80), but one was a bot as it was a Conduit who didn't use their tactical at all, (and I really do mean they didn't use it). They spent the whole match going "I need shields!", when they could of kept their shields full with the tactical.

I'll say it again, if the game thinks I can 1v1 cheaters, smurfs, and diamond to pred players, then make me be that rank already. It makes NO sense to keep me in the lower ranks while still matching me against these players.

Honestly, I agree. Idk if i fully understand it, but i think we need skill based matchmaking, because my K/DR is 0.4! I wanna be able to drop in and survive off the drop playing with teamates who think they're ALGS pros. Then I die and deal 36 damage! Great. Fix it EA i wanna enjoy your game but you make it so hard to do so.
