A penalty for abandoning duos/trios

Hello lads and lasses,

I'm pretty new at Apex Legends and have only been playing for about a month. I can say I'm enjoying it since I've played almost daily since I started. I've met a bunch of new people whom I've had fun queuing with and had some old friends playing it as well. However, naturally, I had to do my fair share of solo-queuing. What I realised, apart from it being a meme already, is that a lot of people (especially wraiths) have this solo-player mentality, which I generally have nothing against, in which, after they get downed/killed will instantly leave the game. I understand, it's very frustrating to have pushed and then get beamed instantly, or not have your team pushing with you when you are, or just simply wiping an entire team and then getting killed while you're licking your wounds. I get it, it's stressful, but for the love of god, this is a team game. This is an issue for players who've just joined the community and started playing, and get matched with a smurf who solos and start with a handicap just because the guy got downed and raged. They don't get to learn how to play or get used to it, because they're left alone while others are in teams. On the other hand there's me, at lvl 180ish, being matched with a bunch of try-hardy * who just join a game, push alone, get downed since they overestimate their skills and don't understand this is a team game, leave the game and then repeat the process god knows how many times a day. This is just plain stupid, it ruins the game for the other two teammates (or one in duos) by putting them at a disadvantage out of selfish reasons. I've seen respawn is considering adding solo mode back which is a nice little solution to this problem, but yeah, whatever. Secondly, I get that the servers are wonky as hell so a lot of people lose connection, but starting as a duo in trios just cause someone joined and was like "Yeah, I don't feel like playing now" is pretty unfair. For the reasons listed above, I believe that there should be penalties for abandoning games. I get that there's penalties for leaving ranked games, however, I believe there's many more players playing duos/trios than players playing ranked games. Maybe add something along the lines of a 30min/2hour/24hour/7day ban like in CS:GO for every 10 games someone abandons.

These are just my thoughts after a rather stressful day,

Pretty sure that if they simply ragequit for the reasons mentioned above, solos wouldn't do them justice, they just lose because they have no sense of teamwork and then blame the team for getting downed.

I don't use teamwork. I land far away from my squad, and if I get knocked, I leave. Respawn should add solos. Also, a 30 minute ban is crazy. By adding a ban to duos/trios, you are forcing people to have a teamwork playstyle. Everyone should be allowed to have their own playstyle, that's why solos should be added, and there should be no abandon penalty in pubs.

I completely understand this, my point is, I don't believe that everyone who leaves a game, leaves because there aren't solos yet. People who land together with the rest of the team make stupid decisions and then leave because they ragequit. So ragequitters will be a thing even after solos are added. I think respawn should do something to discourage this sort of behaviour. A couple of my friends who've been playing for a while quit the game because of this and I can't say I blame them.

@Tuesday_713 I leave because I get players like you who are new to the game and get matched against really good 3-stacks and players in general. I have to carry almost every single match with the randoms I play. Obviously, I'm not going to stick around and watch you miss 2 mags on someone who's literally 1 hit. No offense, but your idea is dumb, if you don't want people to leave just play ranked instead.

The game is a team game, but my advice to you is to focus on your own play no matter what. No one dies because of what their teammates do. Sure there scenarios where a teammate or two would have helped, but you went down because you were out of position or got outplayed. Play with that mentality and you will get better quickly.
Players who push without their team may be practicing a different style of play or terrible....easy to tell after one engagement, the bad ones die and blame their team. Focus on you.
Teamplay makes the difference when all 3 players can take care of themselves, and are smart enough to play with a team focus. It is rarer than you think, especially in pubs.

Well this is false.. used to happen to me often due to teammates running off on their own mid-fight, only for me to rush out to save them, just for them to get knocked and killed then they rage quit, leaving me risking life and death while trying to get to them; or teammates not going into cover to get revived. There's many reasons to die, and teammates are usually 60% of the reason why.

@HansBurgersI am new mate, but I'm not * at the game. What you're describing is what gets encountered in literally levels from 1-50 maybe. I'm sure there's exceptions, but you're being dramatic. Also, I made a distinction between someone who ragequits and someone who leaves after wanting to play solo - and from what I can see you fall into the former category, so please read my thread completely before just tossing insults around.

Besides, I never have an issue with trying to help the newer players by giving them advice. Since, if you just get frustrated and leave, you just further the problem for yourself and immediately end up with the worse result.

@Irres169 I generally do this mate while queuing with randoms, however, after a while it just becomes demoralising or plain boring ending up in constant 1v2s/1v3s. I understand what you and the others are trying to convey, but there's more to, what I consider to be an issue, than just focusing on your own play. There's no point in either landing by yourself after teammates simply leave either before or while landing, or, as many have argued already, not wanting to wait for other players to pick their banners up because they either run away or cower and not join the fight etc. Personally, I know I'm new, but I've played about 1.7k games, which I know is not a lot, but I have never encountered getting downed and then not having my banner picked up. Regarding the former point, what are one's options, landing solo and trying to stumble upon less skilled players, or leaving the game and starting over with the chance of encountering the same scenario.
