Aim assist is literally broken. And i mean broken, not unfair.
I would try to record & post a video showing this clearly but I'm too lazy.
I'm on PC and I've been using controller for my first time ever, for the past ~3 weeks, picked it up just for fun & out of curiosity. All my advanced control settings are optimized to my liking. Aim assist is on. I was getting better at using the thumb sticks but noticed I'm losing fights where I chalked it up to my sensitivities being too low because I could feel my ADS taking too long to line up to the target. I was like, whatever, I just suck with controller. Turns out my sensitivities are fine.
Then on the firing range I realized what the problem is. Aim assist is actually programmed to work incorrectly. I don't know how this doesn't cause outrage among you rollers. Let me explain.
1. Aim slows down (impeding your sight's movement toward your target) before it even gets to the target's hitbox. If I'm trying to get my aim ONTO the target, why would an ASSIST mechanism stop me from doing that? It should only slow down your aim when your aim is inside the hitbox.
But the much much much worse problem, the game breaking problem, which I would literally call a bug, is
2. If you strafe one way and ADS and swivel your aim the other way to line up to a target, your aim is REPELLED from the target's hitbox so that even with the look stick jammed sideways it takes like 3-4 full seconds to ever catch up to a target that's even standing perfectly still. So in every fight where I'm strafing to dodge bullets and pushing my ADS sight in an opposite direction of my strafe, it's impossible to get my sights to reach the target on time. That scenario makes aim assist drop my look sensitivity to basically zero when it gets just outside of the enemy's hit box and my sights are stuck there.
How are you guys OK with this? I've had to set the controller aside for this which is sad because I thought roller would be fun.
