@EA_BlueberryWithout the attachment the alternator is 100% a viable gun now though because of the base weapon buff. It's absolutely fine to use just as a gun because you can hipfire it very accurately and don't need to ADS unless you're putting a 2-4x on it to shoot at snipers :D
An idea the team should test internally is making the hopup cause the bullets to do LESS damage to health, proportional to the increased damage to armor.
This would mean you either keep the base gun (viable but a very general weapon and outclassed in specific situations by other guns) or you choose the hopup to synergise with someone running hammerpoint.
This would make a hopped up alternator less effective at the start of the game and more effective at the end when people have better armor and would result in some degree of nuance to the use of it instead of the gun being either OP and meta, or underpowered and ignored.
