Ammo priority over guns

I always seem to get the short end of the barrel when it comes to picking up guns on the ground. Seems like I always get the ammo, and the person eh shows up just behind me gets the gun.

recently I noticed what seemed to be a pattern. Does the game prioritize ammo pickup over gun pick-up? (Kinda like the reviving near a door issue?)

    I'm not sure if picking up loot is prioritised, I doubt it is though. The only I have noticed which is similar to what you're describing was when I played with the highest FOV and sometimes picking up loot seemed a bit kind of spongey in it's responsiveness. There is definitely some lag with loot, too, though.
