Thanks for pointing that out. I'm learning more and more of the options as I go along, and if I can access a mute feature from the inventory menu, that's great. However, the point of my post was to suggest feedback on how more voice communication between players can be encouraged, as I don't feel that the pinging system really does the job as well as I would like. It's definitely slower than speaking, and there are a lot of nuances to the game that cannot be communicated (e.g. when someone is falling behind, the game might have one of the characters comment on that if they are outside the ring, but otherwise, there's no real way for players without mics to quickly say "wait up" or "hurry up". That's just one example, there are many situations where simply "pinging" things can't get the point across. That isn't to say that Apex's non-vocal communication isn't good. It's VERY GOOD, and is especially good if you don't feel like talking to people but still want to have fun and be a team player. I just wanted to share my thoughts on how I think the game could be improved, this is the FEEDBACK section after all. I hope some of my suggestions will be incorporated down the line, but I'm definitely enjoying the game so far despite my issues with it.
Sometimes I don’t like using my headset, because my house is busy, lots of background noise, etc.
Sometimes I just don’t want to put a mic on.
Should I be penalized for that?
Then there’s the other side of the spectrum - say for example, that people with nice get paired with people with nice and so on.
What happens if I’m blasting rap music in the background? What if I have a Kinect sensor plugged in? Then that creates more issues. You need to incorporate the whole picture, not just the piece.

Simply because I want more voice communication features in the game doesn't mean that I am asking for less features on the ping side, or that I want people who don't use voice chat to be "penalized". I left these comments here as feedback for the devs to take into consideration when they make improvements. My problems or issues with the game aren't yours to solve, so why not leave it to the experts to figure out how to please both sides? Just like with every other corner of the internet, as soon as one brings up ideas or opinions, even in the right forum and addressed to the right people, people like you and TheoryDT immediately show up to take offense, pile on and address the OP as if they are the problem. My suggestions were not directed at either of you, so maybe need to stop looking for things to get offended about. Anyway, I've said my piece, have a good day.

You can access your squad members gamer tag profile by selecting them(where their health bar is) from within the inventory menu. This was always an “I need to figure out how to do this” concept, not “I can’t believe Respawn didn’t provide this”.
