Apex Legends Ranked – Unable to Join Server on Xbox Series S
Apex Legends Ranked – Unable to Join Server on Xbox Series S
I’m having a persistent issue with Apex Legends on Xbox Series S.
Whenever I try to queue for a Ranked match, matchmaking starts normally and I hear the sound indicating that I’m joining a match. The screen then goes black for a moment, with a loading indicator flashing in the bottom corner, and I’m sent back to the lobby with the message “Unable to join server.”
My friend is in the same lobby/party and plays on PS5. He is able to join the match normally while I get kicked back to the lobby.
My NAT type is currently Open, so this does not appear to be a NAT issue.
I have already tried:
- Restarting the Xbox
- Fully shutting down and restarting the router
- Restarting the game
- Clearing Apex local/saved data
- Clearing the alternate MAC address
- Manually changing DNS
- Checking and enabling UPnP
- Trying different Apex Data Centers
- Trying different Xbox alternate ports
- Using an Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi
- Testing different network configurations
- Repeatedly checking my NAT type
My connection is otherwise stable, with around 40–50 ms ping.
The issue happens repeatedly, specifically when trying to enter a Ranked match. My friend on PS5 can join the same matchmaking session without any problems.
Has anyone else experienced this on Xbox Series S, or found a fix for this specific “match found → black/loading screen → back to lobby → Unable to join server” issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
