APEX match-making is so messed up!

Hello my fellow lengends! It is me again, here to complain haha!

IMO and from my expereince so far of season 8, I feel like the matchmaking in apex is really off atm. It got better towards the end of season 7 but not it sucks! Do you all feel the same? I watched some staycation videos and from other content creaters like ragtagg, omega etc. and they also agree that apex is getting more sweaty and sweaty it's actually nuts.

DOES ANYONE KNOW EXACTLY HOW THE MATCHMAKING WORKS?! It is not so much SBMM but EOMM and thery know this!

Look if I want to play sweaty, I would play ranked, ranked atm is easier than pubs and that should not be the case.

I do love this game and am a long term player. Before people start jumping the gun and think I am just hear to get easier games, no I just want more fair games. For some context I have 3700 kills with wraith (RIP wraith, F in the chat), 1000 with parthfinder and another few hundred with other legends, my k/d is 1.6, (this season more like 1) win rate is 10% so I am probs an average player. We all know solos is a no go on apex, so hard because you are probably playing against per-made squads that 9/10 will beat you. However, I play with my friends and admitablity one is similar 1.7k/d win rate is 8% most kills is with Mirage 3000 kills and my other mate has a k/d of 0.7, average win 8%, most is 800 kills with pathfinder. We are really struggling in our lobbies and you can imagine for my friend with the lower k/d it's even harder! The other day we went through 10 games in a row where he did not get one single down let alone kill for 2 hours and we only manmaged to get 3 top 10s. We were getting matched with some crazy players. For example the champ squads had over 30k kills! all pred ranked. In most games the guys that killed us had 10-40k kills each and then they got 3rd partied by another team that has 30k kills each, all master and pred ranked. Litrerally how are we meant to beat those guys?

I know it sounds like me moaning but honestly I am not exaggerating! These guys were double split preds (moving pred and master rank badges). My friend got so annoyed he left and turned off the game. Now this does not show a fair or friendly playing expereince and I am sure you guys feel me here, atleast agree somewhat in what I am saying? And we all been there when we get a sweaty ttv with like 30k kills all pred badges that are all moving meaning they are in the top 500 of players and like us in like the top 1 million-th like wtf why is these guy's in our lobby?

So what can we do? Well the devs are very good at listening to the commuinity and do try their best. If we can get this message across to them they will review it and try something. Please smash that XP button, agree that you have this problem, comment on this get it big and get this to a dev!

@Henry_Chungster7 They dont really care about the matchmaking system. lots of complains every season but no fixes to date.

I seriously can't understand these complaints about matchmaking people make all the time. They totally don't make any sense.

@TheApexLegendNub I think you don't understand. The players you mention are just beasts when playing with regular, average players like me.
All this fuss sounds quite selfish tbh. They complain that the matches are getting "sweaty"... lol, give me a break. For people like me, and it's most of the players, 95% of matches are sweaty, getting a predator to our lobby means no sweats just die immediately.
Despite most of our matches being "sweaty" we just enjoy the game. Why would they want to ruin it completely for 80% of people so they could just walk around the lobby killing everyone if not because being egocentric

@Henry_Chungster7 Based on my own experience, I strongly believe there is at least a part of EOMM in the mix.

Have you ever tried not playing the game for at least 4 weeks and then come back? I've done this several times. Your first day back will be very enjoyable. You win a game with 5+ kills? Next lobby is still filled with low level players. This doesn't make sense in a sbmm system. It rather looks like they're trying to lure me back in.

And if I play several hours a day for a longer period of time, I'm happy to see someone with only the 2500 damage badge although I do not own one myself. The more you play, the harder your opponents are. Don't get me wrong, you can still get easier lobbies, but you're just one decent game away from predator land.

So if I feel EOMM (or whatever system this is) is screwing me over, I just quit immediately because I know it will only get more frustrating.

I have heard Match making has been awful since the beginning and it seems in season 8 it’s got so much worse. This is totally true the match making is so bad!! I recently joined the game I just hit level 30 and from level 20 I have been matched with level 500 players in both ranked and locked and loaded! It makes no sense I can’t enjoy the game because I’m trying to get good at it which is impossible when I’m matched with the sweatiest players !

I loved Apex legends for nearly two years. It was the game I played exclusively for nearly that whole time. What made me end up hating it and quitting is primarily two things; awful matchmaking and awful servers/netcode.
Notice that these are the two things they still refuse to do anything about? This game is a sinking ship and they just bale the water with a pale instead of fixing the holes. Even worse, they refuse to even acknowledge the holes. It's pretty sad and embarrassing.
I jumped on today after having not played for a few months. I switched from Xbox to PS and I just got a ps5 and wanted to see the game in 60fps. Started a new account and admittedly I'm rusty and it's a different controller but even at level 1 half the lobby was moving and shooting like average to pro players. Probably because half of them were smurf accounts from players who are tired or getting reamed in casual solo lobbies, and create new accounts to enjoy the game for a brief time.
Reverse boosting is a thing for this very reason. People don't enjoy SBMM in general but it's especially bad when you combine it with outdated servers and diminishing player bases.
Sweaty lobbies are fine with me. I dont mind an intense lobby with low kill counts and challenging fights. That's not the issue. When I get steamrolled 15 times in a row by perfectly coordinated enemies and I got two teammates licking windows while I'm dying in the same room, that's not sweaty; it's unbalanced.
If solo queues guarantee * teammates and joining with friends guarantees ultra hard opponents then there is no casual play.
SBMM (or EOMM really) should be a guy with 1.2KD should be comparably matched with and against players with 1.0-1.4KD. It is definitely not that.

@EffSBMM1 Yep. I totally agree. And this season its the worse of the last ones, every match im constantly getting mates who die with 0 to 100 dmg. This is ridicolous.

@JonasDumac I totally hear you and agree, makes the game unplayable at times, so is very frustrating! Especially when playing with friends of a different experience level ☹️

Sorry sweaty might not be the right word, sweat games can be good and funny you are right and I totally hear ya and understand your prospective, not hear for toxtricity or arguements or anything of the sort. I am just speaking from my own expereince and clearly you can see it, as quite a lot of the player base. What I mean is unfair matchmatching for example, lobbies with multiple preds when you and your team nowhere near that level. If it happened every other game or once ever 3 or 4 games where you drop in and get rolled by tripple master preds. Fine, leave boot up the next game, do not need to moan. I AGREE! BUT @NolanGraysonnn I kid you not, this was the case for 10 games in a row, 2 hours of game play where me and my pre-made lobbie has no luck and could not break top 10, now that is something to complain about and this is what people are complaining about. If you have not expereinced this sorry but I don't think you are in the position to comment and I don't think you understand. You're saying if it's not broken for 80% of you don't complain, what about the other 20%? Why because we are above average we are rewarded for being good to get put in lobbies that are literally unplayable and not enjoyable? I get it sometimes you get rolled by very good players that's fine that's part of the game. but EVERY SINGLE GAME? For 2-3 hours? Thats not acceptable you can say its selfish but come on? This is the point of the tread and where people agree, I think you are misunderstanding the point. This should be a game that is equally enjoyable for all and playable with friends.

You can disagree that's fine but just look at the number of complaints and the multiple forums, youtube videos etc etc. in season 3 the devs had to change the matchmaking and apologies for making the games harder because they changed it and more. It is very hard to say it's not a problem when clearly it is just look online it's a massive debate. Just because you have not experienced it for yourself does not mean it is not happening.
