Edit: Lifeline is a must in this game mode, she is the only one that doesn’t struggle since she receives heals from extended (blue) supply bins and carepackages.
To be fair, I think that might be the point. I mean, it is called "armed and dangerous" for a reason. Where is the "danger", if shields and heals are so plentiful, that you can just regain your health every time someone shots you from far away?
I don't think this is an oversight by the devs (though, it could be). To me, it seems very much intended, for the reasons I mentioned above. Also, I think they might do it to add a bit of strategy and to make it so that just because you have a Red EVO does mean you auto win the fight. Because, not only do you have to work to get that Red EVO, you also need to be smart with your shields, so You have as much armor as possible, at the right time.
Honestly, I think if they made the shield and heal drops too plentiful, we would end up with what I described in the first part of this comment. "Get shot/sniped, heal, get shot, heal", where is the fun in that? At that point, you're just playing "firing range: the game", except your targets move more and might fire back.
Because, as I said, I think too many shields and heals would kind of strip away the "danger" part of the mode. The scarcity of shields and heals is part of the mode's appeal, in my opinion. I feel what amps up the intensity and makes you play a little more strategic.
But, maybe that's just me *shrug*
