Ash Has Become Non-viable

Ash Has Become Non-viable After the Latest Update – Please Reconsider the Nerfs

After the most recent balance update, Ash has effectively become a non-viable legend. The repeated attempts to lower her pick rate by nerfing her kit have gone too far, and her Arc Snare is now nearly useless in real gameplay situations.

1) Arc Snare No Longer Counters Mobility
The main identity of Ash has always been her ability to counter mobile legends.
Before the update, Arc Snare could interrupt major movement abilities:
• Octane after jump pad
• Revenant after his jump
• Pathfinder after grapple
• And many others
This created natural balance: certain legends counter others.
Now Arc Snare simply breaks whenever an enemy uses a mobility skill. It no longer stops anything and has lost its core functionality. This removes Ash’s counterplay value entirely and makes the ability unreliable in any fight.

2) Significant Damage Reduction
Previously, Arc Snare dealt 20 shield damage and 10 HP damage.
Now it always deals 10 damage, regardless of shields or health.
With such a long cooldown, 10 damage makes it feel irrelevant and not worth using in combat, especially compared to crowd-control or damage tools of other legends.

3) Severely Reduced Snare Duration
The duration reduction additionally cripples the ability. It no longer holds enemies long enough to create any advantage.

4) I’ve Mained Ash for Years
Even long before her dash buff, I played Ash because the classic Arc Snare felt unique and impactful. Its original functionality defined her playstyle and role in the legend roster.
The recent nerfs removed her identity and made her significantly weaker than other mobility-focused legends.

5) Suggestion for Fair Balance
The reason for the nerf was Ash’s pick rate due to her mobility after the dash buff. I fully agree that her mobility needed adjustment. But the snare should not have been sacrificed to compensate.

My proposal:
• Increase Phase Breach (dash jump) cooldown from 12s to 15s
• Restore the classic Arc Snare:
• 20 damage to shields, 10 to HP
• 6–7 seconds duration
• Ability to interrupt mobility abilities (Octane, Revenant, Pathfinder, etc.)

This will reduce her pick rate naturally by lowering mobility, but return her competitive value by restoring her core identity.
Ash doesn’t need to be the most mobile legend — she needs to be a reliable counter to mobility, as she was for years.

Please consider restoring the classic Arc Snare. It would bring back both balance and the unique gameplay that long-time Ash mains love.

  • I appreciate the thought you put into this. I can't even say that I think your solution is a bad one. It isn't. But here comes the truth train:

She was so over-powered for so long, and so many people got a free ride to stupid badges because of it... that I have to own to being very happy that she's been nerfed into oblivion. If in fact she has.

No, my friend, play some other legend for now while the rest of us who stuck it out during her **bleep** show get a little well-earned rest.

She used to be at the bottom of the peak ratings, until Dash was added. We need to nerf Dash to the max, but bring back Classic Legend. Because the spike in peak rating is solely due to Dash's ability.
