Literally, random matchmaking would not produce numbers this bad
They prioritize queue time over match consistency, so they will sneak aimbot or 2 now and then to you dont wait too long
@AnjunakrokusPeople already "did the math", pubs is EOMM, and ranked is a flawed SBMM system that pretty much thinks you're a pred just for queing into the match.
I finally hit Silver 1, and was given a Rookie 3 console player and another Silver 1 PC player, (they were a duo pre-made team, as they were in the same club), and both pushed two teams that were fighting each other and got in the middle of all 6 players at once. Both randoms only had one gun and barely any ammo, and to no one's surprise, they were both instantly knocked down. Then they both spammed "enemy here" a million times like that was going to matter.
The players they died to was a bunch of diamond and cheating players.
There's zero point in playing the game anymore, I won't lie about that. You'll get awful teammates in competitive modes where you gotta babysit them and clutch EVERY fight, or you get bots in pubs and mixtape.
Its not fun.
I'm at the point where if you play badly in ranked, it should ban you from playing ranked, at least for some time, (and by "badly", I mean playing like a bot or just ratting the whole time). Its suppose to be for the competitive players, not the players who failed to que into pubs. Let's be honest with ourselves, a lot of these "randoms" should stay in pubs.the fact that you can face 3 stack current master/preds as silver show that they're trying their best to kill the game asap.

@Anjunakrokus
If the match one Horizon and match two Octane were made to sit in the lobby waiting for enough players of equal skill then they might well never get a match at all. Especially if on a low-population server at off-peak hours, etc.
Not trying to make excuses, but that's how matchmaking has always worked in every shooter I've ever played over the last 23 years. They're all the same. The devs aren't trying to make the game the exclusive fiefdom of the top 5% of the player-base, but that's exactly how it works in practice. They're here to shoot and we're here to give them something to shoot at.
And also, results are at their worst when you play a non-br game type. @reconzero Yeah, que times in games like Overwatch are a nightmare too. I barely play it, and it has me waiting in the lobby for about 25 minutes to find a match where one team is a full pre-stack Discord squad.
Since we get bots in our matches anyways, they might as well give the bots better AI to where they're not useless.@AnjunakrokusThat's because it probably takes too much time to match find 12 people with the ally horizon's or enemy wraith's skill because those people are playing Ranked/pubs (or quit already because the matchmaking is currently cursed lmao). I mean who would you match ImperialHal with if he plays mixtapes and all preds are playing pubs/ranked.
- Anjunakrokus2 years agoRising Veteran@Midnight9746 Respawn as publically stated that they use SBMM and explicitly mentioned that they don't use EOMM. Until any actual proof is released (and no, people did not actually "do the math") I'd rather assume incompetence over malice.
- Anjunakrokus2 years agoRising Veteran@reconzero I understand that there will be a skill width within a lobby. Some will be slightly batter, some will be worse.
But if Apex would take longer than 15 seconds to find a match, maybe the matches would be better.
I'm fine with waiting 2 minutes, if that means I don't waste 30 minutes on pointless matches. And I don't think you could argue in good faith that my gonk 0.8 KD * is "closest in skill" to these people on my highly populated european servers - Anjunakrokus2 years agoRising Veteran@Skimpp I'm not saying it should take half an hour for the pred, but it should take a minute or two. 5 if you're in the top 0.001% of players. And there certainly should be more than enough masters/diamonds around to fill his lobbies. I'd know since they're filling mine.
Call it the cost of success.
