I agree with everything you said, but there's something to be gained by understanding why Respawn is following the path they're on, and it's pretty simple. Over-powered legends are fun to play. Kids want fun. The only people who look sideways at this process are veteran players like us, people who experienced the game when every legend had a purpose and they were all playable. Kids, new players, average-to-below-average players... they're all just looking for some fun, or for some edge they think will get them out of their low-platinum rut. And happy kids spend more money in the store. Especially on the over-powered legend of the season. Which is an easily tracked metric. And it worked once, long ago, with... I can't even remember which was the first legend to get a stupid buff, but I guarantee you they sold a lot of skins because of it... and so they've been doing it ever since. And expecting people like us to just adapt. Which I mostly do. The only one that ever brought me near to quitting the game was Ash. Bet she sold a ton of skins in the state she was in. But, after a season or two, they toned her down to more or less where she should be, and moved on to someone else. And that's how the wheels on the bus go round and round. Embrace the horror. It pays the bills.
