Wattson: I think those sound pretty solid actually
Loba: They sound good but the only one I see beeing truely helpful is the last one
- It's on such a low cooldown that you can sometimes use this ult twice before leaving an area. it's quite frankly unneeded as with a squad of 3 you pretty much clear everything good within an area with just the one ult. Maybe this could apply to 2 man squads? they get the missing persons items grabs?
- That sounds great but like a * to program, I mean if it's possible.
- This one just sounds useful and would help her in dueling and positioning, great change.
Fuse: I think Fuses ult could use some love too
- Is this to say that it would be a circle of fire rather than a ring of fire?
- Without the slowing effect that could work, would it have thermites persistent burn for 25 when you leave though?
- That is great idea and would give him greater control over the things he's supposed to specialize in
Rampart: I don't agree with nearly any of those changes but this is mainly because I have my own vision where Rampart should be going, so take it with a grain of salt.
- Many people suggest this change for Rampart and even I agreed at first. It simply takes too much risk away from such a powerful weapon
- I agree but it should work like a Hyperion weapon from Borderlands, Those guns that the more you shoot the tighter the spread gets
- I think that the setup rate and destroy time for her barriers are fine. I think I'm one of the only Rampart players to think this but it's true. Maybe prevent one shot destructions, like it has to have at least 2 bullets hit it before it goes down as well as it's current balance but I can't see it be better than that.
- That would be the most OP thing in this game by a wide margin
- I mean if they want to, why not? it's not like you'll all be shooting behind one, you have 3 ready to go and can place 5. If they would like get rid of the blurring effect that the amped cover makes happen then they should be allowed to get rid of it. If someone trolled you recently I'm sorry but this isn't necessary, Ironically Ramparts can be just as trollish with the cover. What should be talked about changing is the blinding effects coming from amped cover driving allies to do this
- I somewhat agree, I thought that Rampart should just gain Fortified when mounted, take 15% less damage and no slowing her down when she turn toward you (if she can lol) just as a quick fix for her ult vulnerability problems while they came up with something better
Now as a Rampart player Here are my thoughts on some changes, these changes involve Wattson a little too
- Make a new kind of Trait like Fortified and Low-Profile that Legends can have called "Tech Savvy". Tech Savvy allows this Legend to carry 2 Ultimate Accelerants in a stack
- Drop the double stacking Ultimate Accelerants from Wattsons passive and make the other aspects of it stronger
- Decide if Wattson now needs the Tech Savvy Trait
- Give Rampart the Tech Savvy
- With 2 ultimate Accelerants Rampart can get 2 turrets set up for an ultimately defended area
- Instead of a similar passive like Wattsons where she can get her ult from just one Ultimate Accelerant, Rampart should use them slightly faster than most but still get the current charge
- When Rampart is mounted on her turret she can use a Shield battery from her inventory to give her front facing shields
- This makes mounting a turret even more commitment oriented
- also making her use more of her equipment, which seems better themed for the tinkerer
- Adding tons of balance options
- animation times
- how much coverage of the shield
- how strong the shield is
- can it be rebuilt?
- should shield cells be allowed to build it up?
- When Rampart tries to use her Tactical Ability when it's on cooldown, she will instead cast the Ability anyway and consume 1 Ultimate Accelerant in her inventory.
- This change would give her more options and especially with the the trait Tech Savvy
Overall great post and got me thinking about Fuse with the variable distance grenade throwing

rampart ultimate is - by far - the strongest weapon in the entire game.
you can not buff sheila. no way.
i played rampart a lot lately and i have to sa that she can be pretty strong tbh.
her biggest problem is that most people do not want to play defensively.
its kinda similar to the octance problem. its very hard to play her with randoms.
octance is jsut a meme legend in publics, as all of them q into 1vs3 while the team can not keep up with his speed.
while rampart thrives at setting up and pressure the enemy from afar, the random teammates will simply charge into the fight without giving rampart the time to set up....
honestly: 170/400 dmg shield is pretty solid. 20% increased dmg also is... but people have to use it.
with the grenade damage buff for the covers, those things are extremely solid.
once the first one is up, you can place the 2nd directly behind an it will build up without any problems. there is no way any player shoots through 400 dmg casually...
- 5 years ago@Triumphkutter I agree, people seem to think these walls are weak or useless when they literally eat up so much of your enemies ammo basically for free
She could still use a good amount of love considering how railroading her passive is and is completely unused in some cases while other characters passive are useful all game all the time.- 5 years ago
Wattson: is still very strong in high level play yeah she’s a joke in public servers where you can’t coordinate with teammates it’s tough but if you buff her she will be too OP. But since she’s a shield expert lower her evo thresholds by 25 percent.
Loba: should become intangible for up 1.5 seconds as soon tactical button is pressed to give you a chance to aim your bracelet under duress. Also intangible (can’t attack or hurt) once reaching her destination for 1.5 seconds. Flight path of bracelet should still be visible at beginning but become less visible the further it flies. To compensate for increasing its power up the cool down a bit. Her tactical should be to exit a fight or reposition herself once per fight but she should be able to do reliably. Also as a thief she should have 2 increased inventory slots by default. Her Ult is fine
Fuse: Give the knuckle cluster 2 charges but up its cool down a bit. Also have some smoke with the knuckle clusters. Nothing like Bangalore’s but it should feel slightly disorienting to your opponent or feel like they are under pressure. Right now it’s like...fire crackers
morherlodes cool down is pretty quick so you can’t increase its power too much. I think the area of effect can be widened some. I like the fact it’s a donut it separates it from Gibbys ult. I do think it should be possible to use it reliably indoors tho. Maybe a user controlled mode switch for just a single splash type attack suited for indoors and the typical motherlode attack for outdoors
Rampart: she’s an engineer and tinkerer no reason to limit her increased bullet capacity to just LMGs. She should have that across all weapons, or maybe just automatics (SMGs, ARs, LMGs, + RE45)
decreased item cost in the replicators because of her engineering background.
Im inclined to say she can use replicator resources at any time to turn any hop up into another of the same tier (gold to gold or purple to purple) for example if I’m carrying a skull piercer but come across a devotion I can consume replicator resources and then the skullpiercer into a turbocharger. Same idea with a hammer point into a QuickDraw and vice versa
rampart walls and ult are fine she just needs to have a bit more power generally because fights in apex can be so spontaneous and unpredictable. Giving her a bit more bullets or easier hop up accessibility solves that problem.
