Bugs in Apex Legends season 19

Hi Respawn,

I am a long time Apex player since before even Season 1. 

I am 46, an IT worker, and gamer for most of my life. I am not one to just jump on a forum "on a whim" and complain, so please take what I say with a bit of respect.

The new season has been unlike other season releases for this game. I've always loved the absolutely brilliant quality of the game engine but something seems wrong in this season.

As I speak I am sitting at the Main screen, with the "Continue" button showing but clicking does nothing. This isn't even what I was going to bring to your attention, but there are obviously more than one new problem with this season. The main thing that appears to be a real issue is a periodic stuttering in-game, as if your frame rate really drops or the PC locks up. The game has never ever had any problems like this in the past and this is a real worry for a game that has been out for a few years.

It's not the only issue - I also had a weird bug going into the lobby where all the text wouldn't appear, I had to close Apex and re-load to fix this after loading the first time after the update. After going to the main screen to get my player ID, I experienced the above mentioned inability to "Continue". The worst one is the lock-ups in-game.

Please note, I work in IT and have been playing this game for years on hardware that maxes out my monitor at 144FPS, and there has been no configuration change my side. The game isn't running right anymore. What's gone wrong?

I hope you can work hard to fix these new bugs because I've never seen serious flaws in the game like this in the 4 years since its been released.

    I've definitely been seeing a lot of players experience worse performance in recent times, so you're definitely not the only one.

    I'd like you to try something and check if that fixes some of your issues.

    Try deleting the assets folder in this directory: %userprofile%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex

    For some reason, and I do not know why, those assets can cause major performance issues and game crashes for absolutely no reason.

    These files aren't touched when repairing or reinstalling the game either, as a different subdirectory within that one also stores the settings.

    These assets usually get messed up with each season update, hence why you're probably seeing these kinds of problems pop up with the season launch.

    The game will download these assets again on startup, so if you just delete them and start the game up, you should hopefully see improvement.

    Try watching this video it fixed mine still laggy in the lobby, but matches are fine. I skipped a few this and worked out fine, the video wanted you download a folder with a bunch of script files for some of the processes i just copied what they were doing. Most important things are probably clearing old temp files and that helped a little and when i put in the steam launch options that fixed my crashing issues.

    Here is the launch options I put in for mine. This first line is for Nividia users only that have issue with Nividia Reflex being disabled.

    -novid -nojoy -dev +fps_max -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json

    +exec autoexec.cfg -dev -high +fps_max 0 -novid -fullscreen -dxlevel95

    i have the same problem, Stuttering and freezing moments during matchs ,and lobby screen( even when I try to close the game).  All this has been presented whit the new season (new update).

    i have uninstalling the game because it is unplayable. I'll installing again until i see hot fix or something similar.

    My issue did sort of go away. It could very well have been this suggestion, although it feels like to me now there was a increased load on the servers post season update. 
    Whether that is from something that changed in the code in the new season, and subsequently got rectified, or it was the assets fix you suggested, I'm not sure. I am only guessing. It wasn't black and white, I still had these random server disconnects (red disconnect icon the one sort of like a broken circle) which I normally don't get. Seems much better, if not completely resolved now.. thank god.
