Cant see EA friends?

I play on Steam and I added someone on with their EA username and they do not show up on my friends list. Only Steam friends, what gives?

@TheShaunSenpai From what I can tell - only players who linked their account to steam, will show up on the steam friend list. If you friended someone on steam, they'll should show up on Origin, since Apex Steam requires you to have an Origin account. At least I only assume as I only know that only Origin accounts connected to Steam accounts will show up on steam.
