<<< basically like before, once you moved back 1 meter after taking those major 1 tick damages
Now though, contrarily to before, there's literally no reason to avoid a gas trap in a fight since you can literally stand on it and still be able to function completely, hitting that huge caustic hitbox around the said trap.
Make the trap an actual deployable removing its one-hit-break base, and giving knockdown shield hitpoints to the sack. This way at least the flatulent sack of * that deployed it has some actual tactical use for such a worthless ability.
- 5 years ago@Roamcel ok i play caustic and i think your over reacting and i think that being able to shoot the bottom of his traps was healthy for the game, without it he was locking down buildings, indefinitely, and uncontested. so ill never agree with reverting the barrels being shot and if u think screen effect just ruined your fav character you play badly anyway....GIT GUD

Discussion here is not about "what ifs".
The nerf is dim witted, and half assed. Even the lead developer is asking contributions to make up for such a * nerf and resulting gimped kit on an already weak, unpopular legend.
The blur was a characteristic feature that was literally the only reasonable feature the legend had, and still was extremely situational and by no means in any way a "free win ticket".
You and DanielZKlein should go and look at caustic stats before even starting to think that removing the blur was a good idea.
Nevertheless, there's a good solution which would somewhat preserve the original legend concept: turn barrels into proper obstacles that the team can use as cover. This way, the laughable, negligible poison can at least act as a proximity deterrence, and the barrels can offer some tactical reasoning.

@RoamcelThe buff that allowed his team to move freely through his gas was absolutely op and made pushing a caustic pretty much impossible without another caustic. Crypto isnt even a great counter as you emp a caustic with six traps out and he usually has three more already on cool down (as well as his ult) or he just picks up before emp goes off and redistributes right after. The nerf weakens him pretty drastically. Ive been able to push and kill caustics and I barely even noticed the gas. My original idea was for a buff(before the overbuff apex decided on) that would allow teammates to be able to move freely through his gas for a short duration before being slowed/blinded. This would allow teammates to push through gas, retreat behind it, or secure kills in gas, but would punish teammates for camping/hiding in it. I feel like this would help balance the op nature of his gas instead of completely neuter it like this nerf has done.
