@RoamcelThe buff that allowed his team to move freely through his gas was absolutely op and made pushing a caustic pretty much impossible without another caustic. Crypto isnt even a great counter as you emp a caustic with six traps out and he usually has three more already on cool down (as well as his ult) or he just picks up before emp goes off and redistributes right after. The nerf weakens him pretty drastically. Ive been able to push and kill caustics and I barely even noticed the gas. My original idea was for a buff(before the overbuff apex decided on) that would allow teammates to be able to move freely through his gas for a short duration before being slowed/blinded. This would allow teammates to push through gas, retreat behind it, or secure kills in gas, but would punish teammates for camping/hiding in it. I feel like this would help balance the op nature of his gas instead of completely neuter it like this nerf has done.
I already tried to post pretty much this post but it was either removed and i wasnt told, or something screwed up.
Caustic is a big target, has no ability to escape combat. If i want to escape i can jump into a building and maybe throw a trap or two down to cover my escape and discourage people following me. The traps are pretty obvious, can be scanned and take time to deploy. During deployment they can be shot and destroyed, and even when deployed they can be disable with a single shot. They can now no longer disrupt vision and you can take the same damage you would take from a single shot from an R99 whilst you just walk through it as you chase me down. The ultimate take several seconds to deploy and throw, and no longer has the same effect.
If the intention is not to completely ruin the legend i have played pretty much from day one, they need to either revert the changed back to season 6 or:
Give barrels a bit more health so they cant get destroyed with one shot
Remove the ability to shoot the barrels as they deploy.
Reduce the time it takes to throw the ultimate.
My preference would be to just leave it as it was in season 6.
Regarding the buff so team mates can walk through the gas. That was very nice, because before that Caustic got a bit of hate from team mates that didnt appreciate what caustic can do.
If you want to take that way as well, then make it so teams cant walk through watsons fences without taking damage. Its the same thing. Wattson can hide a barricade a team in a building with fences and throw down an ultimate so you cant even throw grenades in there and be replenishing shields as well whilst they hole up.
This is just Causticism. We cant help being Caustic mains, we were born that way. Stop persecuting us.
- @Piabetic They really need to make that ult faster. The throw is slow and it takes too long for the gas to come out. Also for as slow as the nade moves it shouldn't have such a huge bounce.
- @Piabetic They introduce soo much legend and always nerf them at the wrong direction. But they gotta do what they gotta do to please the majority that just blindly rush to caustic.
