I usually play caustic, alot.. but its ultimate is useless, people usually DONT die, it just make them slow and blurry and very little damage to SHIELD only . that caustic ultimate SHOULD BE instant death to enemies or very heavy damage . that Gas barrels is OK though .please BUFF the caustic ultimate.

It's better than his traps. There is not a set up, or bait and you can avoid friendly fire easier. Nox Gas provides cover and easier to hit targets. The damage is there so there is still a punishment for standing in gas without Caustic's attention. IMO that's plenty.

I've played a lot of Caustic.His Ultimate is very situational, but honestly, it's F'ING AMAZING.I tend to stack Ultimate Accelerants too, so I can spam that Ulti.I have killed quite a few people with Caustic's Ulti, either in a building, or behind a rock, or whenever.And whoever said Caustic wasn't getting a buff to his Ulti, is wrong.Because he is...No more will you toss your Ulti and have to wait a whole second to start seeing damage numbers before deciding it's worth it to run in your gas & take down that target.Now you will see the damage numbers INSTANTLY, when thrown, so it will definitely help in reacting quicker (because a lot of the time you only get 1-2 seconds to target someone who's slowed within the gas...now you will get just that little bit longer, and they will take just a little bit more damage too).His main issue for me, and the reason as to why I've swapped to Bangalore until the new Patch releases, is due to his hitbox.The dude is huge, and an easy target, even in his gas.Fixing the hitbox alone, is enough for me to play him again, as I personally made the gas work for me & my team.

well even inside the building they still can escape , if u compare caustic ult with Bangalore's artillery strike and Gibraltar bombardment , their effective area is big , and heavy damage , like 2 shots and player get 90% knocked down if inside.they will patch only the barrels gas ,

the barrels are pretty huge tbh its not easy to hide them, i mean when i heard traps i thought of something like widowmakers mine from overwatch which is about the size of someone's hand if that but no its this huge balloon :P

None of that stops him from impeding his own team as well

Wait, is this community manager just wrong and confusing everyone, or are the changes that were slated for Season 1 release already out?
I felt fairly convinced they were coming out later, but my faith is shaken by the EA at the start of their name.

The only changes implemented were for the Wingman and Peacekeeper. The Legends adjustments, including hitboxes, will drop when season 1 does.

I definitely agree that in general caustic is a bad legend- I main wraith so i instantly know when traps are around and i've used all of his abilities- they are all very situational but if you manage to drop first into bunker he can be used pretty well. I think his gas should be more like what people would did in wars before it became illegal. He could choose a direction the "wind" would blow and place down an object that spews gas so he can have a huge amount of gas cover that area- also dealing more damage directly to health rather than shield. I think gas should also be a lot more deadly- I think eventually rare will buff him more (and they're already slowly buffing him now according to patch notes) but they are doing something very respectable- Instead of jumping to conclusions they're seeing our ideas and testing them a lot to make sure they give us the best experience. They're putting a lot of effort into it and although it may feel like they're just dipping their toes into the water I'm sure they're working on all of the characters to make sure they're as balanced as possible. It impressed me how in the trailer the devs seemed just as interested in playing their game as they are in making it- (true gamers lol) and they've displayed a lot more belief in buffing the larger characters than nerfing smaller characters so i think you can expect to see some definite changes caustic probably by season two. (Season two will be in june) In the meantime lets get ready for the new characters in the next week or so! Fingers crossed that octane is coming.

I can see where there could have been confusion. I relayed info about the balance changes that are coming since Caustic was mentioned. But yes you are right, the actual Legend adjustments will happen at the start of Season 1.

LEGEND ADJUSTMENTS WE'LL MAKE AT THE START OF SEASON 1

Minor balance changes:

Caustic

Traps - Reduced cooldown to 25 seconds from 30 seconds

Traps - Increased radius and proximity radius by about 10%

Traps - Removed a 1 second delay on the smoke dealing damage to players
