Caustic/Loba/Revenant - allow disabling "toxic" voice lines

For "Lore" reasons, Loba, Revenant, and now Caustic have voice lines towards some other legends, in which instead of the desired "Thank you" or "You are welcome", they trash-talk the squadmate.

This was bad enough in Seasons 4 and 5 (Revenant and Loba, respectively), but at least back then there was the "They have always been like that" explanation.

But now, in Season 6, Caustic is trash-talking Crypto. I really like(d) to play Caustic and am trying to be a good teammate, politely thanking for good pings and so on. However, now the game is putting words in my mouth when I press [F1], which, according to the on-screen hint ([F1] "Thank You") should result in a thank you. Instead, I make some harsh comment towards my squadmate.

Please, Respawn, if you really want to "role-play the story" in the main confrontational mode, give us the option to opt-out of these toxic, trash-talking remarks towards our own squadmates. (or, better yet, require us to OPT-IN to activate them).

If you want to show that Caustic hates Crypto or Loba hates Revenant, do it towards ENEMY teams' Cryptos and Revenants! If a Loba kills Revenant, by all means, let her have a special voice line like "Another demon slain!" or whatever.

But there are new people joining Apex Legends - people who never played the Quest of Season 5, people who perhaps haven't watch the Season 4 story trailer. They have no idea that Loba hates Revenant (or Caustic hates Crypto and why). These players jump into a game, only to be insulted, bashed, mocked, accused by their squadmates!

Can't you see how insanely toxic that is?

  • I felt back in Season 4 when you "you're welcome"'d a Revenant, it was funnier as Legends' cheery responses made Rev come off as more of a petulant teenager than a terrifying murder robot.

That said I love the new lines and the snippets of lore.

But that's besides the point, and more options is always good, so I'd like to see options for those folks who don't want the more confrontational lines.

  • "Here's my opinion which matters but yours doesn't."

    How arrogant does that sound?

These are the personalities of the characters who are in a G A M E. A made up game with a made up lore in it's own world. These add to the game and make people wonder about what happened in between those characters to make them say those to eachother. If these happen to hurt you too much in your softy soft feelies maybe you should go play another game that only has straight forward battle royale action or maybe considering your attitude towards people with different opinions and how easily you get hurt by these "toxic" stuff you could get a job at buzzfeed or something.

And your excuse of "I want the option." is nonsense because you already have the option.

To play another game with less "Ouchy words and rude rude interactions

  • People are so god damn sensitive nowdays its madness what they consider toxic...

Especially online everyone needs his pillow

  • What are you, 8? They're just voicelines. Nobody takes the in-game character voicelines seriously.

    People are so sensitive nowadays.

Remember they did not say to remove them. They said add the option to disable them. I think that player personal expression goes before legend personal expression. I admit that I am biased towards Revenant and Caustic because I associate their voice lines with the personality of the person behind the screen. I would rather have the option to roleplay as someone admirable than someone with less than ideal social skills.

  • @EXEB23 Gutter rat wasn't a slur. Gutter rat is a term used for a person that lives on the streets and crawls through life hidden like a rat. That's been debunked but the lefties want you to believe it's a racist slur towards asians.
Respawn being the pandering fools removed it for the same reason they're adding all these * * badges into the game. To avoid confrontation with these children.

Don't tire yourself explaning * to these people. You could explain how it isn't what they think it is but they'll ignore it, history, context and every single explanation. Calling these what they call these are just excuses so they get everything their way like the big babies they are.
