Chat needs update (desperately)

Quality of life request: please fix CHAT

Chat has been unchanged since the very beginning and there are some pretty annoying things about it.

1.)  there is this issue with losing the typed text in a screen change when you have not been fast enough to type and send it. this happens regularly and is super irritating.

2.)  the allowed text length is too limited. it could use double.

3.) There is no way to scroll chatlog. there is something that looks like a scrollbar but there is no way to actually scroll the text. You only see the last 4 lines of text. It's really bad for reporting people that are typing some really messed up sh*t. 

For example, I just recorded someone attacking and harassing me in ranked right from the getgo just because I have an LGBTQ banner going. I started the recording late but then I could not show the really bad parts because the chatlog is not scrollable!!! so I have no evidence. this sucks.

The game is growing up, yet chat is still in alpha. would be nice if something can be done here

 
PLS MAKE CHAT NEAT....and while you are at it, I wouldn't mind some emoticons in there.

    I agree that #1 on your list is annoying but to be totally honest; in 9/10 situation I wanna type something so long during screen changes that I cant finish it in time, its something negative (blame/rage) =). So that takes me to my question; what kind of written communication  do you think is limited by these things, expect for blaming and raging? The only think I use written commutation with randoms apart from fighting/raging/insulting/defending from their insults on me, is what weapons I look for, like "ping wingman plz" etc.

    I think it's pretty funny that you included a swear word in this post, in a sentence about inappropriate messages.  😕

    @Balladalidila I pretty much gave up on VOIP comms with randoms in pubs. I dont know your play area but in europe its often times pretty toxic. this is mostly due to the language barrier. many people here are not very proficient in english (I play with people from spain, turkey, germany, italy, france, egypt, russia, etc... and countries I'm not even sure where they are exactly, adding to that is the more regualar player from korea and china) and now you can guess what most vocabulary consists of... But you are replying to #1 on my list ....and that hits mostly because I take too long to write it or to find the right words. I'm not the quickest typist and english is not my first language and sometimes I have to look up words. But I give you credit in a reverse fashion: I dont want to read hateful rage messages in even longer form 🙂

    @pandareno1999I find it funny that you read constructive feedback, decide to write an answer that only consists of knit-picking on a single word that is not offending anybody, and I myself even censored. Furthermore, I find it "funny" that I can get discriminated about my presumed sexual orientation by some rando who writes half a book in chat of how a terrible person I am but according to you its not okay to describe such hateful texts as "messed up sh*t"? you must wear the whitest of shirts on a robot skeleton, wow.
