Yeah the matchmaking system is terrible, worst ever in season 13.

Money is still coming so why would they care, I would even cut down financing since there is plenty of customers for less value. I think they should just keep shop open and maybe firing range

I play TRIOS. There is also map rotation which makes it more fun. I got into plat in this ranking system which was full of preds/masters pre-made teams and it was actually unplayabble with randoms, it was trully 10ish minutes of looting (noone was even thinking about hot drop) and then dying one by one to pre-mades which stick together much more than randoms can... Now I have Masters/Preds in TRIOS too so I just play against good players dont even have to play ranked. I think they are going too adjust this ranking system a lot into next season, but I think it is still going to be more team-based than S12 which is not good for solos. Im okay with playing TRIOS. 🙂

@Awhoo_Thunder I mean the teamwork element is okay, if it had actual GOOD matchmaking and didn't shove the top 1% into every single match. Although another problem is that kills have zero value, so it only encourages hitting people your teammates are shooting at. This sounds like "teamwork", but you're just leaching off your teammate's hardwork, especially if they did most of the damage.

I guess theres no EA staff playing apex ranked solos. Thats the main issue. 

What gets me is how much KP DOES NOT MATTER at all in the early stages of the game, you can hypothetically out-skill and kill 6 teams off drop, have 18kp and still be in the negative points when you die to the 7th team making you come in 14th place. There is now FAR TOO MUCH emphasis on placement points, it encourages boring play styles like ratting and not fighting. 

1 RP Per Kill until top 13 is beyond a bad design. you can no longer cushion your fall slightly if you die early on, its just a straight crash landing if you die early game.

I dont even think the matchmaking is that bad personally, I used to be able to reach solo masters every season before this and now I'm just plat 4 struggling to get a hold of any RP.

They increased the amount needed to rank up, they increased the entry cost, and then they didnt increase how much RP you get. + you can now derank (personally i think the derank is good, no more hardstuck 4s running in blind without a care in the world) 

@PholanxTTV Matchmaking is a problem for most players, I constantly get these kinds of teammates VS these kinds of players, and it makes no real sense:

According to this, I'm somehow a masters to pred ranked player. My highest rank EVER was Plat III, and the highest kills I've gotten in one game was 17 (back in Season 4), highest damage being 3860 (this was more recent, like Season 9 or so. I don't remember). How am I considered "similar skill" to someone who got masters for THREE seasons?

Bronze also feels like I'm in Diamond and higher lobbies. Plat was tough as a solo, but somehow Respawn managed to make Bronze feel like the sweatest, try hard rank ever.

Wait, you got a Lifeline that just stood there and died? My Lifelines can't stay put for than one second without rushing the nearest enemy team without warning and ends up dying that way. As to your point about the new ranked system, it was a big change so it has big positives but also big negatives for certain people. Personally, I love the new system's harshness. The new Ranked Point modifier nullifies obnoxious players that like dropping hot as a dice roll for quick points and then just ratting the rest of the match like this is a Five Nights at Freddy's game. The increase in entry cost per tier also vastly stretches out the ranked skill spectrum. Now, rank tiers actually mean something since each subsequent tier increases in cost.

Yes, these changes mean that mediocre or worse players are going to have an even tougher time moving up, BUT that means they're not capable of scraping by through the lower tiers on dumb luck. Any idiot could previously get to Gold by hitting 1/100 shots and getting an assist point for it, and then get carried to the placement points, but what happened when bad players got to Gold? They brick-walled at Gold IV and then served as target dummies and wastes of player slots for better players that queued into them. Now, if players have to put in more work to so much as get to the next tier.
