Cross progression?

When i first started playing apex i came from the game mostly everyone has played which is fortnite. And i started out there as a mobile player and always had the option to switch platforms and still have everything i brought and worked for. That wasn't the case in Apex tho. I started out playing apex on ps4 and never decide to switch until recently when i tried playing apex on pc and noticed my account was brand new. That was kinda shocking to me because i felt like i had brought so many things on ps4 thinking that it would go with me if i ever switched platforms just to realize i couldn't. It was also confusing because what is the point of signing into a EA account on Playstation? It made me realize that i had to spend money on pc just for the stuff on ps4 to sit there untouched unless i go back to ps4. I wasn't sure if it was being added or not a thing that will happen.
