You can use a different button for crouch and melee. Go into your Settings , go to Controller setup, and then choose a custom or different layout. I put crouch on the thumb stick and melee on the B button (Xbox ).

Same goes for unintentionally punching after cancelling a heal.

Tbh these both seem like bugs, rather than intended behaviour.

    @TheJumpingJawa Yeah I have had that too. bugs or missing feature, either way it needs addressing.
