Disabling ingame text chat

Well idk about if the disabling chat thing exists, but if not, I don't know why you would want to.

I understand disabling voice chat for obvious reasons, but text chat is crucial and there are only a few games I know where I see the option to disable text chat, and those are usually more toxic games, as-well-as either big teams or solo allowed options. (basically where you don't have to be an important player to your team, where your team could win without you [if team at all.])

Think about how frustrating it would be if someone is trying to communicate with you in more detail rather than pinging (which is nice but nonspecific at times), they would be spamming like help for example. Or they are trying to tell you something but they don't have a microphone. (honestly, if you can afford a pc to run Apex, then you should be able to buy a 20$ mic just saying lol.)

Chat can't distract as much as pings and voice chat would when someone is spamming.

Voice Chat: yes

Pings: yes

Text Chat: no.

1 source of communication minimum. You and your teammates need it.

How is text chat any more crucial then voice chat in a game with a pretty elaborate ping system?  Hell, text seems like it would mess you up a lot more then voice chat.  You have to stand there and type using the device that you need to play the game on pc lol.   And part of the reason why those pings are there is so you don't always have to talk to people or type to them.  The same reason for why someone wants to disable voice chat is the same reason why someone would want to do the same for text chat also.  People can be very toxic and distracting both ways.  It is frustrating not being able to communicate with someone more efficiently, but that's why people shouldn't be so terrible and annoying in the first place right?  But we know there are players who don't have the brain power to not be disrespectful.  I think something should be done to discourage players from being toxic and annoying so that players will actually want to use text and voice.  Otherwise, people will just say "well that's what turning off voice chat is for" or "well that's what turning off text ch...wait.."  

@gattlingcomboI agree. I think that disabling text chat would not ruin anyone's gaming experience. Ping is very good. I have never play game with that good ping system.

On the other side, it seams there are lots of players that wants to die in first 10 seconds of match and then just distracting you for the rest of the time.

That is why I think that option to disable text chat would be helpful.

Because of horribly toxic randos. It drives me nuts. 

I understand why people would want this to be a feature because people that want to insult people without voice cos they don’t want to just get muted so they do it through text. 

@I_AM_THlRSTYI just got tired of being cussed out for picking someones only legend they know how to play and honestly I’m sick of other people in general and want nothing to do with them OR my favorite some Octane or Pathfinder launching themselves into a full squad and instantly dying then cussing you out for not making their same stupid mistake 

It is not about if we can do it manually through the tab.

We need it to be disabled permanently.

I am now even thankful we have those cheat promotion bots at season 0 for the "f mute squad"

have mute all vc in-game leaving myself able to send oneway VC.

Having teammates willing to communicate is fine. but how about those cussing at max volume during a battle? 

Am I suppose to mute through the tab?
