Sparrow... just why

I just got back into apex about a week ago (started playing week one as I was a huge fan of Titanfall) and Sparrow is the only thing that makes me want to pull my hair out, at this point every character should have jump packs (which is something I think should have been added long ago, especially for people like Ash and Valk, one of whom was a pilot during the war in Titanfall and the other easily would've had access to said tech.) But his mobility along with the completely busted abilities with absolutely no counter (other than being/having another Sparrow on your team) are completely terrible. 90% of the final circle fights I've been in during the last week just end up being ruined by Sparrow's ult which can't be destroyed like other placeable ult's like Watson's, and he has all this on top of the most busted passives in the game. Respawn pick one, Sparrow should not have a jump pack, fast climbing ability, and explosive Bocek arrows, not to mention being able to hit the survey beacons with zero risk and still be able to gather EVO points off them. Either nerf this character (especially the tac and ult health and damage) or update the other characters because the game meta is currently have Ash and Sparrow on your team or you lose. Also adding jump packs to every character opens up wall running, which would probably warrant some slight map overhauls but refresh the gameplay a ton, reduce Sparrow's completely busted move set by evening the playing field a bit, and make this game more of a spiritual successor to Titanfall. I get every new character usually need some nerfs when first added but Sparrow is just atrocious.

    Eshshshss: Your start to your reply is condescending and unnecessary IMHO.

    That being said, you just listed a lot more concerns for Sparrow than I think you realized. 
    Sparrow’s ultimate completely diminishes Cryptos ultimate.

    1. Stinger: 500hp EMP: 50hp Drone.
    2. Both have a 3 second charge up.
    3. Stinger: Damages shields, health, knockdown shields, deployables, doors. EMP: Damages shields and deployables.
    4. They both slow, but EMP slows teammates and damages Crypto.
    5. Stinger: keeps Sparrow in the battle and doesn’t require set up. EMP: requires drone set up before hand or it removes him from the fight to throw out the drone and activate it (or you have to pilot it to avoid it being interrupted)

     

    Overall, I think any critiques are valid critiques as they come from all levels of play and it helps developers get a bigger picture… If someone new joins the game for the first time, they can still have the ability to go “hey, this guy with a 15 second tracking ability and an OP ultimate isn’t fun to play against.” Those opinions are some of the most raw and appreciated as they are baseline, non-emotional and just honest…

  • Sparrow’s speed literally breaks the game. Unless you are cheating you cannot hit him in most cases. It’s worse than octane.
