Still an on going problem, no idea how it's been over 6 months with no posts of efforts or resolve from EA.
EDIT: I see a few posts acknowledging the issue but nothing about steps forward to resolve etc.
My friends and I have always used discord, precisely because the in-game bitrate is terrible.
I can appreciate they don't want to overload the bandwidth of those playing with awful connections (given that the game itself is already rather a bandwidth hog & latency ridden mess), however couldn't it be configurable?
Send & receive bitrate settings, with the lowest value between clients being negotiated as the one used?
It seems bonkers that, when playing with a mixture of randoms & friends, I have to broadcast both in-game & in discord, and have my friends mute me in-game.
