While you are correct about aim assist being 0.4 on MnK and 0.6 on controller, peoples have found ways to abuse this system because they're allowed to use both in ranked allowing them to get MnK with 0.6 aim assist and this issue has been ignored by developers since controller became an option.
While i'm absolutely disgusted by level 50 controller players in my lobbies at high ranks just because they have aim and nothing else, i am even more disgusted allowing the abuse of this system in MnK, all you need is an controller to win in either input types, either to make your mouse more accurate, or just use the controller.
To the minimum peoples should only be able to use their selected method of inputs they had prior to queue, and even that would not be enough to help with some 3rd party tools that convert your MnK inputs into controller ones to cheat the system.
This issue is much more deeper then just "oh my god hes using controller"

All Respawn needs to know is that if they don't give pc players the option to turn of cross platform they will soon have no pc players left.

Brov, it's console players that dreaded getting forced into PC lobbies, not the other way around. Also, I'm not sure what logic you're following with PC players quitting for getting grouped with console players. PC and console do not share lobbies. The only way for one platform to encounter the other is for mixed-platform squads to queue. Technically speaking, you are not "forced" to play with console players, and, thank the gods, I am not "forced" to play with you.
- 5 years ago@SugaryJuice This season if you are pc player you can not turn off cross platform. Which means if they can't fill a lobby with pc players they move console players into your games and I was seeing them every game. This could be because of my region though.
The console players that come across have to have cross platform on and if they are anything like my son then they have it on because they find fighting pc players easier than pure console. That is the thing I watch my son play on his ps4 so I see how the aim assist works first hand. My son and his console crew are laughing their * off at how easy it is to melt pc players. He is even running double r99 nearly every game.
My sons biggest complaint is that the aim assist starts to track down players that are to close to his target. So people saying it is isn't aim bot but just a reduction in sensitivity when near a target are quite frankly full of it. The aim bot will track a downed player even when you don't want it to. that is how powerful it is.
Anyway not really my problem for now. Leaving Apex off my pc for now and looking for a new game.

TLDR: Pc controller aim assist % needs to be lowered and next gen consoles should match the lowered pc controller aim assist.
After fiddling around by turning aim assist off on controller pc, I've come to a couple conclusions. One is that no aim assist is impossible on controller without nuking your sensitivity into the ground (not extremely viable). Two is that .40 for pc controllers is still too high. I came from console last season, and managed to adapt from .60 to .40 fairly quickly. However .40 still gives you an insane advantage in close range fights (where a majority of fights take place). Fov settings also seem to influence how hard your aim magnetizes onto an enemy, with 90 and below making you have to fight your controller to get your reticle off an enemy (on pc and console controllers). Midrange and far range go to the mouse for sure, especially with single fire/semiauto weapons, but it's minor advantage, while close range is a moderate to huge advantage for controller (depending if its .40, or .60). I think most controller players would be able to adapt to a weaker aim assist, especially if it came with benefits (like being able to shield swap while moving).- 5 years ago
@TinyTim6991Aim assist is just too random, one min its lock on aimbot and the next min I feel like my sensitivity has gone through the roof... switching over to linear did help though with being able to control your aim more precisely like sofar said, in the end I just want to be assisted, it dosnt have to be aim bot but it shouldn’t feel like its not there at all either just some fine tune adjustments to where its always there vs whenever it wants to be
I usually only have 1-3 good games out of like 20 I play so I don’t really feel like aim assist needs to be nerfed majorly on pc but it shouldn’t be lock on aim bot whenever it wants to be either
Somedays I can get online and get win after win and other days die within 20 seconds of landing every match, but Ive also had alot of server lag... like sometimes the whole screen just starts shaking randomly or yesterday everything just practically froze and the gunfight was so awkward because nobody could move lol, other than that i dont have any lag anywhere on the map except near the waterfall on top of that one area and the sound just gets muted around that area above and below it
