And to answer @xx_MIku831_xX you could lose the game regardless because if a teammate takes something someone else dibbed what's to say they're gonna help you when you're in trouble?
I feel it's not only discourteous but disrespectful to your teammate to take something they already called dibs on. So if we're not going to teach players to be more respectful by penalizing them for it, just get rid of it.
@Lord_Scorpion34 Your response irritated me but I guess that's because you misunderstood what I typed. If we're in a situation where we both need an item equally then I believe it should go to the closer player. Calling dibs on an item that both of you need but you're further away from is a selfish move in my opinion.
I understand being upset if you dibs an item that gets taken by a player that doesn't need it. That's also selfish but the solutions we have here will still punish an innocent player.
Respect is about more than having others acknowledge your claim. Your team may need those items just as much as you so don't lay claim on every good item you see.
I'm not saying you play that selfishly but I've seen player dibs items that their teammates desperately needed to survive.
- Lord_Scorpion346 years agoLegend@heme725 I understand what you're saying now, but I am a player with not-so-common-now common sense. I only call dibs on something I need, & usually I make sure I'm not carrying the same type of weapon as my tms so that way we don't need the same things unless it's ammo. So I don't dibs everything. Just exactly what I need.
The issue comes when you dibs something & someone races to it before you to pick it up whether needed or not & that & other selfish actions is where I think players need to be punished because if not, we're simply condoning the behavior. So if not my suggestion, either something else needs to be figured out, or it needs to be done away with.
@Xx__Miku831__xX In those moments I'm not even pinging cuz there's no time. I'm only pinging enemies unless a mate needs ammo. Obviously I mean the moments in the game when you're simply looting & theres no enemies around. Most people would not even take the time to report someone once a match is over unless they really said or did something to * them off, like not reviving, leaving them for dead, or letting them die so they can loot them.- 6 years ago@Lord_Scorpion34 Then this is their problem not to report them, but I am quite sure that you will report them as this is something that * you off.
Back to the beginning, the system you mentioned have so many problems that we need to solve. First, you cannot ensure that this system is not abused by some bad manner player, just like the action that some people mentioned above: They will dibs everything even they don't need.
Second, I have thought another problem of it: If they have brought a skullpiercer that they actually have no use of it (or other high rarity item), then your system will just drop them (they don't suffer a loss) and they can still grab the item.
Anyway, I think in-game punishment is not a way to teach them but actual banning is a better way to let them learn.
