Gonna have to agree with Mister Chompski. Much like Paladins, its free to play and they also have a battle pass you can pick up for $10 USD. Its worth it to me because you play the game as intended and get stuff well over that price. If you wanted to buy things individually you can but it'll be at a premium. Getting skins and characters for playing a game you enjoy for $10 or so every couple of months is not any different than playing an MMO which go for $12 and beyond per month.
- LMAO you cant expect to have everything in life to be free. How in the heck is Apex going to make money to provide good quality connections to servers, new content, updates and etc with no money? Get over yourself...
This guy knows whats up!
I highly doubt they'll hear me out, but I'll state my feedback anyway. I agree battle passes are lame, just as lame as loot boxes. The only time I've ever spent loads of money on a free game, is by purchasing cosmetics which I KNEW I would obtain and ones that I actually wanted. Furthermore, the cosmetics in this game are pretty bad. All heroes appear to have similar skins and the decals on weapons are extremely unappealing. As much as I love the game, I don't like the cosmetics at all and most likely wont be paying unless I'm guaranteed to obtain a skin I really like.
- I will agree a little bit, I think its fine to see characters who can share the same skin (Midnight for example) looks cool across all characters..
They just need to add a lot more skin specifics for each character..

I get you bud. I really do. That's largely why I left OverWatch and play Paladins. Overwatch is expensive, and sure they are largely similar but Paladins allows you to purchase the skin you want with ingame currency that you get every match (not a lot mind you). Unless of course it part of the battlepass which then you'll get once you hit X level. Same here as far as I can tell. You can get that crystal stuff and purchase the skin you want. We'll have to wait to see how they implement the Battlepass but I hope they go for a route that gives play time a good decent amount of the blue crystal (The name escapes me)
how much did you pay for league of legends?
how much did you pay for dota 2?
how much did you pay for warframe?
how much did you pay for path of exile?
how much did you pay for the world of tanks/warships/etc?
all of those are free to play game which aren't pay to win and doesn't have a battle pass while still making pofit and gaining money.
as i said before, battle pass/loot boxes are really not the only way to make a profit
@BallClipper I mean, POE is a grindfest that allows you to improve your actual gear, so not entirely applicable. I've been out of WoT for quite some time, but back in the day, it was very much Pay to Win... As for LoL, Dota 2, & Warframe, I am not familiar, but this was both fun & informative.
- league of legends, dota 2, as well as world of _____ all have paid boosting services provided by 3rd parties. PoE has real money transactions via 3rd party. The only competitive content in Warframe is pvp (to my knowledge), in which case you can buy desirable vaulted primes with silver which is real world currency. These are all pay to win mechanics.
Lastly, there is no such thing as a free to play game. You spend money, you invest time, or both. The time you play a game, is time that you could have spent making money. As such, the time you play is a financial loss to you, the consumer. - this is sooo true
