He didn't need the 15 percent damage reduction, his arm shield already soaks A LOT of damage and on top of that he has 15 percent damage reduction, There is no way you can fix this since they have already put the fortified passive in play, which is all fat people get 15 percent damage reduction because of their larger hit-boxes - you cant remove that and if you nerf gibraltars shield it will become close to useless.
@thiaguero69 I disagree that Gibraltar is overpowered for the same reasons others have already posted.
I play on console and have below average aiming skills but love to face a Gibraltar. Now when he's ADS at me, it's time to find cover since you obviously can't trade punches with him like Rocky did vs Ivan Drago and hope to come out on top, that only works in the movies 🙂
Have you tried playing him to complete challenges? If so, did you feel OP in battles? I did and was elated once the challenge was complete and I could stop using him.
Now if he goes on a diet and loses about 30% of his body mass then he may be overpowered....but that ain't gonna happen cuz the dude loves the ice cream "my brother" 🤓
Btw, anyone watched the Gibraltar video in the Apex Meet the Legends section? Says he's 6'4" and 265 lbs.....what, 265 lbs?!?! Dude lied on his application, he's gotta be at least 365 lbs...😃
Love his quips and personality when on the same squad though, one of my favorites.
- Absolutely disagree
So I have been following this thread for a while now and no one seems to come up with a decent argument as to why Gib is OP.
1v1? of course you are bound to lose, the man has a shield. That shield makes him different and a tank to go head first into battle while he gets cover from teammates. The disadvantage he has is being a bigger target and if you cover and fire at him, you can break his shield fast and than take him down after. Thinking a face to face battle is a good idea is just telling everyone on your team that you are not worth reviving considering the bad choices you make.
Gibs was build around being a defensive Legend with his personal shield and his dome shield along with the Ult that covers a circle around where it is thrown. He was made to hold his own and take others out while he waits for or receives cover fire. Reducing his shields health is basically taking away his shield.
If you want to see a balance on him, I would just suggest a full neck to feet shield that he puts down and has to stay in that position to fire. but also has increased accuracy considering he'll be immobile and only able to slightly rotate left and right. Now that's a fair balance without taking away much of what makes him a unique legend.
When you going to nerf his gun shield back to 50 HP?
His 15% buff made him overpowered with his gun shield. I am sick of getting out gunned by him just because he has 275/250/225 Health.
- @Leo_the_Lion25 They never are. Why should they? It's the only thing the guy really has going for him.
If you cant kill the largest hitbox in the game, then you are the problem. Not gibby. Stop blaming a character with a 4.3% pick rate for your own faults. @Leo_the_Lion25 have you tried sticking gibbi with an arc star?....would be a simple solution. Dude's got a helluva lot of body mass to stick an arc star to.

"Stop blaming a character with a 4.3% pick rate for your own faults."Gibraltar pick rate nowadays is actually 1.6%:
https://play-apex.net/stats/DynamicsI'm a bit surprised Caustic is still doing so bad after the season 2 buff though. I know he is still not top tier, but dang... 🙂
- @ZeptikkHue Holy crap... 1.6% is even worse. The 4.3% stat was the only thing I could find from the end of season 1.
I cant believe people want to nerf and call a 1.6% character over powered. Insane. - @AcessorieSS Because while the % played might be an indicator of whether or not something is OP - it in and of itself isn't actually relevant to a discussion of balance.
