I agree with the sense of unfairness felt by solo players. The forced team composition with duos is especially painful, and it becomes the worst-case scenario when there is a rank difference within that duo.
However, the solution should come through matchmaking, not through manipulating Ranked Points (RP). Manipulating RP compromises the integrity of the rank, which should reflect a player's true skill.
The actual fix should address the structural issues in matchmaking by either completely separating solo players from parties or by strictly restricting the rank difference allowed in duos.
