The problem with the Golden Knockdown shield is that it ain't healthy for the Pro Scene and Scrims.
It rewards the team that lost a fight. The team that knockdowns all three of the enemies but get third party will actually lose. What happens is the team that won the fight ends up with 3rd placement and they don't get the kill credit for the 3 knockdowns they got. The team that third party them will get 1st place and finish off the knockdown people even though they don't get the kills off those people. No one gets the kills off the knockdown people and those knockdown people with the Golden Revive Shield will actually get a better placement which in this example is 2nd place.
It's pretty stupid and there are times where the Ring Kills everyone except the person with the Golden Knockdown shield. Luck base and no skill whatsoever.
The devs need to find a way to change that aspect of the Golden Knockdown shield so it doesn't reward you from losing a team fight.
How they'll change it remains the question, but I have faith in the developers.
They changed Fast Heals for the Golden Armor which was actually broken despite most players not wanting to admit that Fast Heals was too overpowered. Now it is a balanced perk with the double heals from small heals. Makes Lifeline somewhat more useful too as she best with it.
But, gold knockdown shields are easy enough to find, just finish your kills. So what if you get 3rd partied, that is how this game is (PS: adding sarcasm because I made an entire thread of 3rd partying and everyone told me "who cares")
- 6 years ago@SolitaryMassacre I just explain the problem with Golden Knockdown Shields. And you replied with a casual comment.
Exactly why it getting reworked.- 6 years ago@Leo_the_Lion25 Actually this situation is rarely to see but I think that it is quite fair to let the gold knockdown shield users to stay alive even all 3 people are down.
Lets take an example of the following situation: Supposed there are only 2 teams (you and other team) left in the game and both of the teams are in Singh Labs Interior, except you are at the top while the enemy team is inside the lab. The round 7 ring forbids you to fight them as you will die while finding a path to enter the lab. Unlucky, your team does not have a wraith while the other team has. Then the result is obvious: your team loses as wraith can use her ability to stay longer in the final ring.
In the above example, can we say that wraith is broken as she is the only one who can stay in the ring for a little bit longer? No, as this is what Wraith can do in this situation. You lost as you are a little bit unlucky about that, so does the gold knockdown shield. It designed to prevent the team dies even all of the members are knocked, if you really want to complain these particular situations, then you should complain all these situations (such as a caustic using his traps to block the door completely while you don't have any explosives, or the situation I mentioned above, something like that etc).
However, I know that it is really unfair for teams who were the one who knock down the whole team but they didn't get any points. I think there is a solution, that the game should allow the gold knockdown shield users to keep their position point, but the team who knockdown the members from them can still earn points even they died before the gold knockdown users get killed (without being revived during the process). This will keep the advantage of the gold knockdown shield, but still can make the game fair.
I am sorry about this comment maybe a little bit messy to read.- 6 years ago@Xx__Miku831__xX Again, you're looking at it from a causal prospective and not a pro competitive prospective.
Most casuals don't even know how tournament points even work.
