You are absolutely right. Controller still requires skill and dedication to get good at, with or without AA. I have hit master multiple times on PC with MnK and since the only FPS game I played on controller is Goldeneye on N64 back as a kid (yeah I am kinda old), I am TERRIBLE with a controller. I cant even run straight and it would take me years to get half as good as I am on MnK.
BUT that is not the issue or debate. Only hardstuck gold complain about AA at their level (not talking about current hardstuck gold since this season is a joke). What the debate is about is AA at the highest level of the game, like ALGS for two reasons;
1) how pro matches plays out (less focus on movement and long range and more about holding position and fast close range fights).
2) that the skill level of those players are so high and close to each other that the "inherited" input advantages MnK has over controller is much smaller.
So the issue does not concern casual gamers but is just used as an excuse for hardstucks to blame when they get one-clipped by a much better player. I am fairly sure that the X top MnK player is way better than the X top controller player below master, maybe even predator. Perhaps can we compare it to steroid usage in sports. Some small dude wgo cant bench his own weight once (i.e hardstuck gold) wont get super buff and strong only because he start using. But steriod IS a huge difference among top professionals athletesm
