Yeah it seems like they actually meant a solo mode, which has existed for a while due to the playerbase constantly nagging the devs for it.
Their data did show that it wasn't a great addition, so this is pretty much one of the main reasons to why it probably won't be used again.
"It's a team game" is a great reason to not add it.
The balance regarding guns and legends is pretty much done in mind with Trio's, which can still function for duo teams.
Even map balance is something that is designed around that.
If users aren't using the no fill mode then I don't see why we are expecting them to use the solos mode, just doesn't seem like that would change anything.
We'd be adding another mode which could increase queue times, which is something that should be prevented unless it's proven that it doesn't affect the queue times.
Next to that, if it doesn't resolve the issue, then what's the point in adding it?
We should be tackling the main issue, not adding things here and there to keep the mind of the community off of it, that's just wasting resources and time at that point, unless the community actually wants that.
These players really do not need excuses, once they add in the solos mode they'll find another excuse, most of these users don't even care about giving an excuse.
They cannot be held accountable for going in alone or leaving when dead, it's still a casual mode, you can't exactly punish players for having an exact playstyle.
Users are granted tools to prevent these random users from invading their squads, if they don't use it then that's pretty much on them.
Again, it might make a good addition here and there, though the test run the devs had given it has just shown that it really doesn't fit this game, so it's probably not going to be implemented again.

Fixing more important community issues? What's more important than making the game enjoyable to actually play to the community? * matchmaking and these solo lone wolf types have been an issue pretty much since release, and they are the biggest issue the game has, but they haven't fixed it and it's on what season 14 now? And they're afraid of adding a solo mode because it didn't do well? The game modes we have now aren't even doing well but do they care?
These are issues that people are leaving the game over, so yea they should take priority over any new game mode or added content but all we get is new legends, new skins, and a handful of other bugs.
So why the hell ask to fix it when it seemed easier to ask them to add a new game mode instead?
'It's a team game.' But, it really isn't.
There's no incentive to keep people from disconnecting as soon as they see their team.
People hot drop to get rid of noob teammates because they don't want to deal with it.
People que up in trios and duos, that don't bother pushing the no fill que then run off alone and get themselves killed.
'It's a play style' it's either a team game or its a game to play as you want. So which is it? If it's a team game as you keep proclaiming then yes, they can be held accountable by game throw, because that kind of game style doesn't fall into the category of playing as a team. (Especially when they have the use of aforementioned no fill button.)
"It's a casual game mode' that's the most bs excuse if ever to keep allowing those kind of players to ruin the game for those that are actually trying to enjoy it.
As stated before it might not completely fix the issue, but I bet quite a good amount of them would hop over to solos.
Some of the legends might not be as useful in a solo mode, but then it would be a play as you want game mode.
The simple fact of the matter is the terms BR and Team play just don't mix well. A BR implies that you get to run the game how you want, you make your choices on where to go where you land, and you get to be the best of the best. The world is you proverbial oyster.
A team game is heavily reliant on sticking together, working together and communicating, and you strive to be the best team there is.. If they aren't going to enforce the actual team play ethic of the game outside of the heavily competitive ranked then they need to dump the term all together because doing it as they have has just made * game play and an unenjoyable game.
It didn't do well as a game mode due to teaming, well, maybe if they actually did something about the reports they'd get we wouldn't have these issues. Team play is always an issue with solo br modes. What matters is how it was handled. They obviously didn't handle the issue, hence why the game mode didn't do well.
Other brs with solo and team modes have been doing a lot better than apex on that front.. the issue isn't the mode.
LFG or playing with friends doesn't fix the issue as a whole. It's just a * patch job so no one has to actually do anything to fix it.
So while I respect that you have you own opinion on the matter your logic just doesn't seem to have any good points.
