Nobody is saying that M&K is easy. You can be trash with M&K as you can be trash with a controller. One can be god-tier with M&K and god-tier with a controller.
But it's important to realise the strengths and weaknesses of each input type. The strengths of M&K are the many many buttons and the fact that a mouse is the highest precision input there is. The strengths of controller are the fact that the input is analogue (instead of binary) and that they are portable.

Since Apex is a game where different types of input are matched together, they try to ensure that each input is as valid as any other. One of these options is the Aim Assist to allow them to compete with the high speed and high precission flicks. Furthermore, I have been told that the aim assist is pretty weak compared to other shooters.
Let's also not forget the multitude of other advantages that M&K has, such as: moving in death boxes and tap-strafing. The removal of Aim Assist should also warrent the removal of these M&K only bugs (since technically neither of these were by design, they just never patched them out).
While any debate over whether there is too much / too little Aim Assist is theoretically interesting, EA and Respawn are the only ones with the right data to make any informed decision.
I'm only so adamant on the forums with this topic because I'm trying to drive SEO (Search Engine Optimization) towards this subject so it can get more attention.
Please understand, I'm a controller user asking for this feature. Mouse & keyboard players shouldn't get tracked by software just because me and/ or someone else chooses to use a controller.
I'm also seeing people use marketing material that makes aim assistance more than what it was ever supposed to be. Aim assistance was designed for a time where 640×480 (N64), sitting on your couch.
Companies picked up its use once they started research that it boosts profit margins by a lot!
Player does badly, less likely to spend money on your title (most casuals). If they succeed and make it look like aim assistance isn't that powerful, that person thinks more of themselves (from the dopamine kicks) and has a chance to kick-back some money.
Aim assistance (in my opinion) is a global video game monetization tool used to trick people into thinking they're something they're not, in hopes they might spend money towards that title, nothing more.
Also, I do think some people deserve the right to use aim assistance, that's why I'm more into the realm of wanting a no aim assistance room, over just completely removing it.
I would be perfectly happy waiting the extra time in ques for a no aim assistance server.
