- @Android_Nana I think Console aim assist is finally being nerfed down to 40% to match pc aim assist in Season 12 but thats only while playing in pc lobbies and may not happen until the next gen console updates are released
- Palette24carats4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Android_Nana Not at all! Controller players shoot really bad with 60% aim slowdown. Most controller players don't want to play in PC lobbies because they get really mad at how they get shot by 90% of players with almost perfect mouse aim.
- @Android_Nana PC have way more advantages so stop complaining about aim assist ffs..
@DaleFox2012weird argument
"You got advantages because you play the game with the optimal inputdevice, please give us cheats so we can make up for it"
Todays mindset is weird

Pc players think it's OP because they only encounter the top few % of controller players in pc lobbies. If everyone would get mixed, most console players would get destroyed by pc players. Even with my sub par M&K aim, I would outclass my controller aim everytime.
Also, crossplay in a competitive environment will never be fair. Controller has the advantage in close range gun fights, but lacks in the movement departement or just standard "speed of execution". - @Solim66 well that's really the problem isn't it? Basing inputs on the average player. I will agree with you that console players are generally worse than PC players. Mostly because if you own a gaming PC, your likely to be much more into the act of gaming than someone who owns a console, which is a more casual gaming system. Not to mention the costs involved.
Nonetheless, when you finally get a console player who is actually halfway decent, aim assist is absurd and ridiculous. It's downright oppressive. All it takes is for a person to have a 1.25 k/d in order to be placed in lobbies with the best players in the game (in pubs). Perhaps the game uses other factors to decide your lobbies, but this is the main one that I've noticed. Most players have a substantially lower k/d.
That being said, I have that k/d and I am constantly being put in the higher skilled lobbies, which means I am playing against good console players... which means... I'm getting fried at close range every time. That's annoying. If not for aim assist, I would have a better shot against them.
The movement vs aim assist argument is also silly, because the "average" M&K player is not Faide, Calamiti, Aceu or any one of these other movement gods. We do not rebind our scroll wheels to have forward input, we do not superglide, wall jump, tap strafe, or do any other thing except for slide jump (which controller can do). The fact that it is so difficult to be good at movement, requiring a crazy keybind setup and hours of practice means that movement is not generally a factor. As an FPS, aim is the most important thing. If you play your basics correctly, such as peeking corners, retreating, sticking with your team, you will statistically do better than someone who doesn't do any of those things, flies around like a mad man, and misses their shots.
If they are doing all of those things, then you're playing against a pro and there was nothing you can do anyways. The debate comes down to this:
M&K players are complaining about "average" controller players, and controller players are complaining about the "best" M&K players.
The two inputs should be separate, because we're essentially playing two different games. Cross play is a bad idea. - @Solim66 @Android_Nana
I will share this everywhere I come across a stupid "Aa Is Op AnD a ChEaT" thread.

There in no way is AA doing anything for me. EVEN in close combat. I play on PC with a controller https://twitter.com/oraxe_/status/1285671062852837384
nice try but okay. a good that about strafing while shooting has rotational aim assist that react to players strafe with 0 input delay is not op

Totally agree with this. MOST players on controller, from below average to semi-high skill will be a worse Apex player than the skill-wise counter part on M+K. There is a reason why you see so few controller players in PC lobbies (pretty much only some premade cross player from time to time). Bottom line is IF controller with the aim assist was so OP, more amateur players would take advantage of this, which they evidentially dont!What people who complain about controllers aim assist compare to are the top tier of controller players who are INSANLY good at it to a point where they are almost up to par with their counter part top tier M+K players on movement and aim.. So only at the top elo will aim assist be a competitive problem. Thats why we see the pros talk about this issue in the highest elo competitions. But that issue is not relevant for us, casual players.
Honestly, I think the best solution would just to have M+K lobbies only and controller lobbies only. It would simple be the easiest solution for everyone since I dont think the demand to play on controller in PC lobbies is that high that its worth the troubles it brings.. But to say that you suddenly become OP only because you pick up a controller is so false. So why dont you do it then? I tried and couldnt even run in a straight line =)
