In game chat system needs rework urgently

Hello, I’ve spent the last few days searching for answers, it’s heartbreaking that every answer leads back to “email us,” which in turn is responded with no solution.

apex legends is a game where we spend 1000’s of hours and thousands dollars, these accounts we build have memories, friends, collectables that are no less valuable to us than physical photos, collectibles, friendships, etc.

There should not be a game chat message option if there is no filter. If someone uses an unacceptable word deemed by EA strike it with stars. So many other games adopt this, games that don’t have $1,000s of items to purchase. Why does this game have a nuclear button that can terminate an entire EA account including games that weren’t even related to the one they are accusing of violating.

To add insult to injury, the microphone has zero punishment. The amount of times I’ve been the last player alive and had someone curse me out, and wish horrible things upon my family is countless. Absolutely nothing happens to those players, but someone types in a more insulting variant of the word “butt,” and they are banned permanently?

I was banned just a few days ago, with an account I spent close to 3,000 hours on, spent well over $3,000 dollars and had 100s of friends on it. I was banned because my nephew typed in two words that are in no dictionary as a swear, but combined they sound out a word that is insulting. Why did he do that? The kids he were playing with encouraged him to do so, and as a 12 year old kid he doesn’t even understand the meaning of what the proper slur would have been. those much older kids that encouraged him to type that? Nothing happens to them, they’ll do it dozens of more times and ruin a ton of gamers accounts for fun.

i am not advocating swearing, I’m not advocating a chat system that allows bad words. I am simply saying to either code it so the filter does not allow bad words to appear on the screen or allow players to opt out of having it altogether on their accounts. It is not fair to have one player to encourage a kid to type in the chat with zero consequences and have the owner of the kids account be destroyed as a result.

i have sent 3 immensely detailed emails on this matter to ea, every response is the same, and my account has never had a slur used on it, and even to this date there is no slur, only two words that mean nothing bad whatsoever, that sound out a slur that most kids don’t know what it even means.
